However, during the Fortinet Australian PGA Championship that is currently underway, he failed to showcase his skills as the player went ahead to miss the weekend cut.

Coming in as a favorite to win the event, he failed to defend the title of the 2022 champion. However, following this, a post was uploaded on Twitter by LIV Golf Nation in support of the Aussie golfer. It mentioned how a “single missed” cut would not “define” the “career” of a future Hall of Famer.?

Adding on, the fan page for the PIF-funded league pointed out how the 30-year-old is currently “playing some of his best golf since turning professional.”?Moreover, they also took a jab at the “corrupt golf media”?for their “hateful biased coverage” all the while dubbing it as nothing short of shameful.

However, his recent performance did put the golfer in the limelight. The 1X major winner missing the cut coupled with the fact that he is a LIV golfer has put a lot of eyes on the professional as he played the PGA Tour of Australasia event.

A LIV Golf hater did make his opinion known on the internet as he dubbed the Saudi-backed circuit as a “circus league” all the while mentioning how Smith would not be able to shine at a professional level if he keeps playing on the same.

However, another follower was quick to take a jab at the “corrupt media” comment as they pointed out how the post by the fan page is the first tweet or update on the internet talking about the Australian golfer’s failure.

The next follower turned out to be a fan of the pro. Although he called out the fan page of spreading propaganda, the supporter also expressed his dissatisfaction with watching his favorite player, unable to shine on every tee he hit off.

Another supporter is in line for the golfer! This fan decided to come off as a source of comfort for the 30-year-old as he mentioned how everyone has their bad days all the while sympathizing with the pro.

Well, with a major victory, 6 wins on the PGA Tour including a Players Championship in 2022, 4 European Tour victories, and participating in the Presidents Cup in 2019, Smith has undoubtedly made a place for himself in the golfing world. However, a golfing enthusiast doesn’t share the same sentiments, as he mentioned his achievements as just statistical measurements.
