However, he also used this Instagram video as a chance to wish good luck to Team USA for the Ryder Cup. The LIV Golfer is clearly rooting for his country which has not bagged a victory on foreign soil in the last three decades.

He began the video by wishing his followers a very happy National Coffee Day and then subsequently went on to ask them what coffee means to them. He added that coffee, for him, has been a regular part of his life, which has saved his career and has added more quality to his life.

The insightful video posted by him was captioned: “Happy National Coffee Day! And go Team USA.” The golfer, who has 1.2 million followers on Instagram and was taunted by Europe’s Rory McIlroy a few weeks back on the latest betting allegations, has clearly made his position on the Ryder Cup very clear.

Rory McIlroy didn’t mince words when discussing Phil Mickelson’s gambling controversy. With Mickelson not being part of the Ryder Cup this year, McIlroy said that at least Mickelson could bet on it.

Reports suggested that Mickelson had bet a staggering $1 billion over three decades and once considered a $400,000 wager on the U.S. team in 2012, a potentially career-threatening move.

While technically eligible, Mickelson’s recent performance and association with LIV Golf make his selection unlikely. McIlroy, confirmed for the European team, will compete at the Ryder Cup starting September 29 in Italy.
