The seasoned golfer Dustin Johnson has been left out of the most anticipated event of the year, the Ryder Cup, which is just a week away. It promises fierce competition and a history of remarkable moments in its decades-long existence. No doubt pro’s like DJ too have experienced this historic tournament’s ups and downs. However, this time, the LIV star didn’t find a spot on Zach Johnson’s team.

Despite his strong desire to represent his country, the LIV star was left out of the 12 American men squad, and instead his Saudi tour colleague, Brooks Koepka, made it. Nonetheless, DJ maintains his belief in his abilitiesase a valuable team member and even opened up about it. It seems, however, that his claims have fallen on deaf ears; since now, even the golf legend Jack Nicklaus has weighed in on the Ryder Cup picks, and his words are like gasoline to DJ’s woes!

The current US captain, Zach Johnson, confidently decided to include Koepka on the US team. However, the 5-time major winner was the only LIV golfer to make it, and the likes of Dustin Johnson felt snubbed! DJ even opened up and claimed that despite the fact that he hadn’t “really played that well,” he believed that it was still enough to have made the team!

Two-time former US captain Jack Nicklaus certainly didn’t think so. The golf legend recently opened up about his agreement with Zach Johnson’s picks, claiming Koepka was definitely perhaps the only LIV golfer who was worthy of being picked!

“I think he deserved to be on the team. Yes, no question. He played very well,” said Nicklaus as per Palm Beach Post’s recent report about Koepka, making no mention of the likes of DJ once. “He got beat out in the last tournament for the automatic spot, but he still deserved to be picked.”

Koepka was one of six golfers selected by Johnson to complete the 12-man team after narrowly missing out on one of the six automatic spots. The American golfer is now all set to face the Europeans and give them a tough battle at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome from September 29 to October 1. The event will undoubtedly be an exhilarating one, and given Koepka’s recent excellent track record, he is bound to fair well.

The LIV star has consistently shown remarkable skills this season, finishing as the Masters runner-up in April and later winning the PGA Championship. He also performed well, securing 17th place at the US Open and clinching the top spot at the PGA Championship in Rochester. Notably, Koepka boasts an impressive record of winning five major tournaments, more than anyone else on the current team.

Zach Johnson, while announcing Koepka’s selection, even praised his ability to shine on grand stages like the Ryder Cup. The US team captain firmly believes that Koepka deserves to represent the country more than anyone else. He said, “I don’t think there’s anybody else (from LIV) that deserved to be picked,” yet again making it clear that he had no remorse for DJ and the others who felt betrayed.
