A race for Tyrrell Hatton and Wyndham Clark, it seems! The 2024 season of LIV Golf is just a week away and the final spot on the same seems to be down to just two of the professionals, as per reports. Although sources indicated that it was just “Clark in negotiations” to join the Saudi-backed league, it appears the Englishman’s “recent change of heart” has supposedly led to him threatening the American’s LIV Golf offer.
Interestingly, it appears the PIF-funded circuit has made “formal and final offers out to both players,” as per sources, and the situation seems as if the “one who signs first gets the spot.” Nevertheless, reports indicate the whole situation reaching an end soon. Moreover, Hatton’s decision to reportedly rejoin the negotiations has undoubtedly made Clark unable to hold out for a better offer to supposedly join Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII GC. It may be his final one if he wants to play in Mayakoba next week!

The Wyndham Clark-LIV Golf story
The LIV Golf rumor mill went into overdrive, back in December when Clark was touted to join the disruptive tour along with the likes of Viktor Hovland. However, the latter was quick to dismiss the same by divulging how it isn’t the right option for him at the moment. Besides, he also expressed his dislike of the circuit’s format.
What about Clark then? Well, he did not deny or confirm the speculations as such. But, his support for the Greg Norman-led circuit along with his comments advocating the same has painted a picture of him leaning towards defection. “I love the PGA Tour, I love the United States, but I also love traveling the world and growing the game of golf,” said the 30-year-old before continuing to dub the idea of playing more events outside America involving both U.S. and international players as “the best thing for the game.”
