You might see Anthony Kim on the greens as soon as next month. Kim has stepped up preparations to tee up at LIV Golf Jeddah, per the latest reports. In fact, the 38-year-old is apparently playing money matches as well. Kim to LIV Golf has long been rumored. Ever since Golf.com first reported that he is eyeing a comeback to professional golf 12 years after his mysterious disappearance.

Kim, a three-time winner on the PGA Tour, withdrew from three consecutive tournaments in 2012 because of injuries. His on-course performance, coupled with his off-course swagger, made him a cult hero among golf fans. That also makes him a lucrative catch for the Norman-fronted league as well.

Flushing it Golf, a fan media account run by a former pro golfer, reported that Kim has taken his preparation to the next level. Apparently, the 38-year-old has been playing money matches nowadays. Kim has also partnered with swing coaches to give a facelift to his game.

A point of debate has been whether Kim should return via the Tour or the upstart league. LIV seems to have the upper hand. Even Max Homa quipped that the PGA Tour can only offer him a chance to play but Greg Norman can offer an additional $500 million.

The latest reports also seem to confirm that Kim might return to the greens through LIV Golf. Flushing It Golf wrote on the X Profile, “There’s also now significant noise that it will be on LIV and they could grant him one of their “wildcard” spots. Although this is unconfirmed from official LIV sources.”

This season, the Saudi-backed side has opened up two ‘wildcard’ spots for uncontracted players. Should he return via that, it’s unlikely Kim would get upfront contract money. Although there is no official confirmation on this, earlier reports also claimed that the three-time PGA Tour winner is in talks with LIV Golf.

Greg Norman was in talks with Kim

LIV Golf officials have had talks with Anthony Kim sometime around 2021. Court documents show that Kim was one of the 179 players contacted by PIF officials. Dylan Dethier at Golf.com reported that Greg Norman was not interested at first. However, Dustin Johnson later convinced him to have a chat with Kim

Apparently, the

Great White Shark was willing to pay Kim a $10 million contract upfront, the same as his medical insurance. Interestingly enough, PGA Tour sources told Bunkered earlier that they would gladly welcome Anthony Kim back. As a past event winner, the 38-year-old still has exemptions from some tournaments.
