LIV Golf brings in two new sets of hands into its fray! In a surprising development, the Saudi-backed league has gone ahead to hire “a pair of longtime marketing consultants” in a bid to work on the commercial strategy of the Greg Norman-led circuit. Moreover, they have been employed for a duration of “the next six months” to support the same.

The two new consultants, namely Ron Skotarczak and Evan Frankel, are currently working as principals at Jigsaw Labs, who dub themselves the “art and science of marketing solutions”. Moreover, prior to their current employment, they worked with LIV’s new Chief Operations Officer, Lawrence Burian, at MSG.

Back in 2022, Skotarczak and Frankel were laid off from Madison Square Garden owing to “organizational changes” in a bid to “effectively meet the needs” of the company’s partners. They were eviscerated from the positions of EVP/Chief Sales and Marketing Officer and SVP/Business Solutions, respectively. The former has been with the company since 2008, while the latter joined in 2011. However, they would be joined in their new workplace by Burian, a former senior executive at MSG, who joined the Saudi-backed league as COO back in October 2023.

LIV Golf aims at a successful 2024 and beyond

Boasting more than two decades’ worth of experience in the corporate and strategic fields, which he managed to procure at companies including MSG, Cablevision, and Davis Polk & Wardwell, Burian’s hire would prove to be nothing shy of an efficient step by the PIF-funded circuit. The LIV Golf’s official, following his hire as acting COO Gary Davidson, has been currently tasked with a list of responsibilities ranging from corporate development, strategy, management and commercialization, and investor relations, among others.

“Lawrence is a proven leader and a proven winner,” said an elated Greg Norman following the decision to employ Burian. Continuing his praise, he said, “We couldn’t be more excited to have him on our executive leadership team.”

Well, what about the official himself? He was also visibly exhilarated as he said, “I am excited to join LIV Golf as Chief Operating Officer,” before continuing to mention how he would be looking forward to harnessing “more than two decades of senior executive experience to help build on the progress and momentum that is well underway.”
