If you had a dollar for every time you came across the name Tiger Woods, you would probably have some serious money in the bank. That’s because the man stays in the headlines despite not being in his A-game for almost the entire past decade. The irony here is that apparently, he doesn’t like attention that much.

Woods is reportedly an introvert, who prefers his own company over anything else. A calm reader who chooses books and alone time somehow turned into arguably the most popular golfer. The controversial author who has been promoting his latest book on the ensuing battle of the golf world has spoken about Woods recently. What did he say?

“Tiger’s always been a loner,” claims Shipnuck. “He’s always been an introvert, and there’s entire generations that don’t know him at all because he’s been injured for so long.” This is not the only thing he claims though.

Shipnuck also theorized that the whole LIV-PGA Tour battle is a metaphorical clash between Woods and Phil Mickelson. He once spoke about an instance where Tiger Woods made sure Phil Mickelson wasn’t invited to an R&A meeting.

Alan Shipnuck has a habit of throwing unbelievable allegations at popular golfers, the authenticity of which the golf world can only speculate. Phil Mickelson later spoke about the matter as well and explained how he just didn’t want to cause a big deal.

Coming back to Woods’ personality, though, one of his friends has described his nature. In an ESPN feature, an anonymous friend of Tiger Woods was quoted to have said this. “Frankly, the real Tiger Woods isn’t that marketable.”

The friend had more to say about Tiger Woods and his introverted nature, which translated to what he is to the media and public.

As the unnamed friend describes Tiger Woods, we get the idea of a person who prefers being alone over the limelight. From a very young age, people with a camera have chased him, and he perhaps had no clue how to handle himself.

His sponsors had to cash in on the deals they had signed with him. As per social norms, a quiet, introverted sportsman wouldn’t sell well. So fitting his behavior into the templates of the mainstream society, Woods had to put up an act.

The friend further explained this struggle to build profitable patterns of personality traits changed Woods. A change that he, perhaps, wasn’t very comfortable with.
