When LIV Golf was first introduced, and a few former great PGA Tour pros switched, the move left a certain stain on the friendship between golfers who left and the ones who decided to stay back. There was a lot of turmoil that unfolded afterwards, and PGA Tour pros called out the LIV Golf defectors on their decision. Other than the friendships being affected, LIV golfers even faced the wrath of the PGA Tour, and other significant golf authorities.

One friendship that appeared to have survived the LIV Golf vs. PGA Tour storm is that of Sergio Garcia and Jon Rahm. Both the Spanish golfers had shared a close bond with each other in the past, and according to Garcia’s recent interview, the two are still very close with each other and seek advice from one another.

Sergio Garcia and Jon Rahm have been friends for a long period of time, and the two have played together a significant number of times in the Ryder Cup. Though Garcia will not be seen competing for the European team in the upcoming month in Italy, Rahm will miss his fellow Spaniard golfer. He mentioned missing the 2017 Masters champion as the two of them shared a great partnership at Whistling Straits.

Pointing out the friendship between the two, an interviewer recently asked Garcia as to what his suggestion would be for Rahm if he ever asked him about joining LIV. Garcia said that the only thing he would share with the 2023 Augusta Champ was his experiences and how things have been in the Saudi league.

Praising his friendship with Rahm, Garcia said that he likes the fact about his relationship with his fellow Spaniard that they do not make decisions for each other. Extending further about their relationship he said, “We can give each other advice, and day this is what is happening, this is what I am going through and what I am experiencing. And then you know given the most amount of information, he can make the best decision for himself.”

Garcia was asked the interesting question about Rahm’s entering LIV Golf, because of the exciting information that the LIV Golf’s recent Greenbrier champion shared about the league’s future plans.
