Who are the new faces in the 2025 season of LIV Golf? A few weeks ago, the Riyadh Golf Club hosted the LIV Golf Promotion event that saw 94 top lower-league stars fight for a lucrative contract from Greg Norman.
It was an action-packed event filled with excellent strokeplay and some tense moments at every stage. After the 4 rounds concluded, Lee Chieh-po came out on top to secure his place in the 2025 season. Alternatively known as Max Lee, the Chinese Taipei national came out on top with a 2-stroke lead on the final day of the event.
But two more stars have confirmed their place for the 2025 season earning themselves LIV Golf contracts signed by two teams from the Saudi-based league. Let’s learn more about all the 3 players.

Max (Chieh-po) Lee
The LIV Golf Promotions event was an intense battle among some of the best on the Asian Tours, Korn Ferry Tour, & other qualifying brackets. The 3-day event featured 2 rounds of 18 holes each. Both rounds were dominated by Max Lee as he won them with a 2-stroke difference in each. While the battles were intense, there was no doubt that Lee was the superior player in both of them as he won a guaranteed LIV Golf contract by one of the teams for the 2025 season. Considering the way he qualified for the contract, fans will be expecting him to have a major impact in the 2025 season.

Before his Promotions event performance, Lee had come off a win in the International Series of the Asian Tour as well. The 30-year-old had won the International Series Thailand event where he scored birdies in the last two holes to beat current LIV Golf player, Peter Uihlein. With Bubba Watson & the RangeGoats GC looking to find a replacement for Thomas Pieters, it will be interesting to see if fellow Uihlein recommends Max Lee.
Frederik Kjettrup
Frederik Kjettrup only turned pro in 2024 after finishing 8th in the PGA Tour University rankings. His performance also earned him a conditional exemption in the Korn Ferry Tour. Moreover, he also had complete access to all the events in the PGA TOUR Americas. In his limited time on the Tours, Kjettrup managed to play 9 events & win 3 titles in the process. The Danish driver also made an appearance at the 2024 U.S. Open where he didn’t make the cut after a +6 score in the first couple of rounds. The guy had everything in his arsenal to attract interest from LIV Golf teams. So it didn’t come as a surprise when Cleeks GC came looking for him.
The squad led by Martin Kaymer features Richard Bland and Adrian Meronk. Last season, the team also included Kalle Samooja, who was out of form for most of the year. Hence, he received a demotion from LIV Golf. A few days ago, Cleeks GC confirmed that Frederik Kjettrup is set to replace Samooja in 2025.

The No. 1 player in the 2024 season of the Korean Tour, Yubin Jang, was bound to attract a lot of attention from his suitors. He won two titles and had many other high-ranking performances throughout the season to secure maximum points on the Tour. This ensured that he became the Player of the Year and was awarded the 2024 Order of Merit on the Korean Tour. Jang also managed to become the KPGA Money Leader and Genesis Points Champion to add to his achievements in 2024.
Just like Cleek GC, the Iron Heads were also looking to replace an outgoing player. South African pro; Scott Vincent didn’t have that great of a year in LIV Golf. This led to his demotion from the league and exit from Iron Heads GC. Captain, Kevin Na found the perfect replacement for Vincent by signing Yubin Jang as confirmed by the LIV Golf website on December 10, 2024.
Fans would be excited to watch what these 3 players bring to LIV Golf. It will be interesting to see if they can maintain their great run of form in the big leagues and prove any doubters wrong. For now, we hope they are preparing for the challenge that lies ahead of them.
