Can Bubba Watson's Indonesian debut reignite the spark that once made him a Masters champion?

Another turmoil is boiling up in the topsy-turvy world of golf. While Jon Rahm celebrated his individual championship victory at the LIV Golf Chicago, pocketing $37.9 million in his debut season, five golfers found themselves in the dreaded drop zone and one of those players is the two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson. Remember when the golfer joined LIV Golf with high expectations? The golf world buzzed with excitement as the big-hitting American teamed up with the breakaway circuit so how is that going right now? Well, not so good.

Fast-forward to the present and Watson finds himself in the drop zone, ranked 52nd in the LIV Golf season-long standings. His struggles have raised questions about his future in the league. Watson’s journey to this point has been filled with inconsistency. Despite some instances where he performed well, he hasn’t replicated the form that earned him multiple PGA Tour victories and now, Watson faces an uncertain future.

Well, the golfer is not backing down that easily as he has decided to find his own way by teeing off in the BNI Indonesian Masters, marking his debut in Indonesia and his ninth appearance on the Asian Tour. The two-time Masters champion and RangeGoats GC captain joins a stellar field at Royale Jakarta Golf Club from October 31 to November 3, competing for the US$2 million prize. Watson will be alongside LIV Golf League stars John Catlin, Richard Bland, and Danny Lee, as well as defending champion Gaganjeet Bhullar, Kiradech Aphibarnrat, and rising Chinese talent Ding Wenyi.
