Golf is a gentleman’s game, earning its athletes millions of dollars from their wins. This year, Talor Gooch has the title of the “highest-earning golfer in the world”. The LIV Golf player is going to contribute an increasing amount from his 2023 wins to his Talor Gooch Foundation.

According to Marca, Gooch made over $15 million during the 2023 season. Further, he earned more than $18 million in bonuses. His total earnings for 2023 as of October stood at $36 million, an amount Talor said he never thought he would earn.

In an interview with Luckiest Golfers on Earth, the Oklahoma golfer was asked what his contribution would be to his foundation after having a record year. Talor Gooch revealed that he doesn’t know how much he will give to his foundation from his earnings but that it will be more. This is because his earnings this year are a surprise to him.

The 31-year-old golfer, who joined LIV Golf in 2022, said, “It’s a question that I haven’t thought about, because I never in my wildest dreams imagined that I could make this much money on a golf course.”

“So, we’ve done a great job of building partners and organizations that we help and we’re going to continue to support…just in a bigger way,” he said. Gooch is yet undecided on the detailed plan for his foundation.

The golfer further spoke about the day’s play at the recently concluded LIV Golf Jeddah 2023, while mentioning his captain Bubba Watson.

Talor went on to sing praises for RangeGoats FC chief Bubba Watson. “Bubba played great golf today. It was cool to see him after not playing, you know, great throughout the year. When we needed him the most, he came through and had the round of the day,” he said.

Gooch added, “Unfortunately, on a day like today, you gotta go out there and play a great round to beat all these great dudes. And we didn’t get it done. But it just gives us something to strive for next season.” Talor is thinking of his team and not individually, even with his individual earnings at a record high. It’s a good mindset for a champion.

While Talor Gooch finished second at the LIV Golf Jeddah, he won the LIV Golf Singapore 2023 (with a birdie on the first extra hole). His humility and commitment to charity is evident. It shows that golfers don’t just lead a lavish lifestyle with their millions but also make sure to set aside an amount for charity or their own foundation.
