Golf fans know Bryson DeChambeau as the “mad scientist” of the game. DeChambeau’s analytical approach to golf has helped him nab several significant achievements over the years, including a major win in 2020.
However, one aspect of the LIV pro that has often evaded the notice of the world is his philanthropic and generous side. Most recently, the golf community on the internet was able to get a glimpse into a special cause that the 29-year-old holds extremely close to his heart. Let’s dive in to learn more!

Bryson DeChambeau is, without a doubt, one of the most successful golfers of our time. Before his LIV defection, the golfer had eight wins on the PGA Tour, including a US Open victory. In 2022, the golfer made waves once again with his near $125 million move to the Saudi-backed LIV league!
However, DeChambeau is someone who loves to give back. In a clip shared by @LIVGolflatest on Twitter, he shed light on his work for blind and visually impaired players. “I am helping out Blind Golf Association, and what they’re accomplishing with people around the world is…mind-boggling,” revealed the Crushers GC captain.
In fact, DeChambeau’s father is a big reason why the issue is so near and dear to his heart. The golfer’s late father, Jon, had also lost his eyesight due to diabetes in the past. He passed away at the age of 63 in November 2022 after a battle with kidney disease.

“Losing your sight..it just can happen very quickly,” he shared. “[It happened to] my dad overnight. He was like ‘I can’t see out of my right eye.‘” The major winner further stressed that his love for the foundation stemmed from the fact that it brought people together. “It’s not just we are doing something nice. We’re doing something that creates a community, creates hopes for individuals, and helps people.”
Currently, DeChambeau, who recently reunited with his former caddie, is gearing up to tee off at the renowned Centurion Club in London for LIV’s impending event. He had a successful outing at Valderrama, where he lost the title to Talor Gooch by mere inches.
DeChambeau eyes his first LIV Golf win at London with an old caddie on the bag
Bryson DeChambeau had Tim Tucker on the bag for all eight of his PGA Tour victories, including his major win. The two eventually parted ways in 2021, ahead of the golfer’s appearance at the Rocket Mortgage Classic that year. Since then, Greg Bodine has taken over, assisting him throughout LIV tournaments and beyond.

However, with Bodine unavailable for LIV’s London event, Tucker has agreed to return to his past role temporarily. He has most recently been on the bag for PGAT’s Kurt Kitayama. He was with Kitayama when the latter claimed the Arnold Palmer Invitational this year and is expected to return to his side at the Scottish Open next week.
Meanwhile, LIV’s event in London will be held from July 7th–9th. Just like the golf circuit’s previous events, this one also features a jaw-dropping $25,000,000 purse. DeChambeau, who finished second at LIV Valderrama, is yet to get his first win in the Saudi-backed league.
