Anthony Kim was once one of the rising stars in the realm of golf. However, his career mishaps left him just a twinkling memory in golf fans’ minds. Once considered the next Tiger Woods, he had to step away from the greens for 12 long years due to a series of health injuries. Recently, the one-time PGA Tour winner spoke about his complicated relationship with golf and how this time around he is truly falling in love with the sport.

It looks like during his hiatus, Kim had not kept tabs on what was happening in the golf world. Which also included the news about the majors and the winners of the same. The 38-year-old spoke about Brooks Koepka‘s major wins, which not only grabbed the attention of many in the golf world but also made it to the 2017 U.S. Open champion as well.

Ahead of LIV Golf Miami, Mike McAllister recently took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account and shared snippets from an interview with Kim during the press conference. The Californian spoke about how he was unaware of many things, like the fact that Brooks Koepka won back-to-back majors.

He even added that it was Dustin Johnson who told him about it during a practice round and stated, “I didn’t watch much golf. I just found out from DJ yesterday playing a practice round with him yesterday that Brooks won back-to-back majors, which is awesome. But I had no clue that that happened.” Anthony Kim’s answer impressed McAllister, as he praised the 38-year-old for his simplicity and candor, As he stated after quoting the golfer, “AK was terrific in today’s press conference. Honest. Thoughtful. He’s easy to root for.”

Well, the news of Kim being clueless sure did travel fast, as Brooks Koepka took the liberty of resharing the post on his own X account and was pretty much tickled by the comment made. In the caption for the post, he wrote, “This is awesome 😅”

Brooks Koepka has a rather shiny record when it comes to his major wins. The nine-time PGA-Tour winner won 5 major championships in the span of six years. Looking back at the previous year’s Masters, Koepka once again put forth a commendable performance after finishing T2 alongside Phil Mickelson. Even though Anthony Kim’s answer was liked by McAllister, not everyone in the golfing community shared the same sentiments.

The golf community gave mixed reactions to the post that was reshared by the 2018 U.S. Open champion. While many came in support of Koepka and disapproved of the 38-year-old’s oblivious behavior, some took a dig at Koepka. One of the fans encouraged Koepka ahead of the Master, all the while hinting towards actions being louder than words, and commented, “Let’s win another.”
