During the inaugural season of the Saudi-backed league, the players appeared like one big happy family. The feeling of togetherness amongst the LIV golfers was made more evident when, at the beginning of the year, Greg Norman pointed out that if a LIV player wins at Augusta, all the other players will be there at the final hole to celebrate! But it appears that just like any big family, this one also had its shortcomings!
It has been evident right from the start that LIV Golf had the fight to put up with the external world, but some time ago this year, an internal feud between Brooks Koepka and his teammate Matthew Wolff broke out. Ever since that falling out between the two, there have been numerous developments, with the latest one being Wolff proving Keopka’s harsh remarks against him false.

After Wolff came across his skipper’s harsh remarks against him via certain news channels, he was heartbroken. The young golfer expressed that demotivating and harsh words are not something that anyone looks forward to hearing from their leader. He also believed that if his team’s captain, Brooks Koepka, felt this way about him, there were other ways to tackle the situation.
However, the 24-year-old made it pretty clear that he did not feel the need to make any statement for anyone. But it seems like Wolff has turned his pain into resilience and is showcasing his exceptional golfing skills. But Wolff is now determined to turn a stone, as he is competing in Greenbrier for $25 million and is tied for the first position with David Puig.
After completing his second round, the golfer spoke about the recent developments in his skills. He said he is currently working on committing fully to the game, each shot, and every situation on the course. He spoke about accepting the result after his commitment because every shot might not turn out the way he intended it to. Talking about his focus and his game, he lastly said that he is really proud of his game: “I feel like I’m in a really good spot right now; I’m really proud of the work I’ve put in,” and is excited to see what happens on the final day.

The 5-time major champion claimed that Wolff is a talented golfer, but his talent is wasted. What encouraged the team leader to make such harsh comments against his teammate?

Earlier last month, in July, the 2023 PGA Championship winner stated that he had practically given up on his teammate, Matthew Wolff. He claimed that the young golfer is really talented, but his “talent’s wasted.” These remarks came from Koepka after Wolff’s dissatisfactory finish in the London event. The London event was a breaking point for the skipper since it was the fifth consecutive poor performance on Wolff’s end.
The 24-year-old golfer had a falling out with his LIV team, Smash GC, after he withdrew from the Washington DC event and was partially removed from the company’s social media handles. Before DC, the former PGA Tour winner finished T44 in Australia, T41 in Singapore, and T30 in Oklahoma.
