Recently, LIV filed a motion to subpoena European Tour officials. The Saudi side accused the two sides and said, “[They] worked together to destroy competition from LIV” by “conspiring to suspend LIV players from the ET and PGAT.” LIV is also seeking the removal of a European Tour representative in January, before the start of the antitrust trial.

LIV Golf further claimed that the pair worked together to deny World Ranking Points to the new series. Thus refuting its players’ access to the majors. LIV added that the Tours united “to preclude LIV’s access to vendors, sponsors, and broadcasters,” thus limiting the market for the new league.

The European Tour fights back

Keith Pelley and the DP World Tour were not going to take all the allegations sitting down. Their lawyers argued that the Saudi side could not force the removal of their executive without a legal standard.
