Having a major win on their record is every golfer’s dream. Even for the LIV golfers who have bid the PGA Tour goodbye! But, the OWGR’s ruling not to provide LIV golfers with world-ranking points for their play in the rival league hasn’t made things easier for them. On the contrary, it seems that things have been made harder!

Many defectors chose LIV Golf in hopes of having a more relaxed schedule and increased family time, with more money in their bank accounts. However, the reality has fared such that they now have to take up even more international events on different Tours just to be able to gain OWGR points. The motivation to earn OWGR points? Well, definitely the majors! It’s ironic, isn’t it?

Well, that is the reality that their decision to move to the other side has cast upon talented and highly ranked players like Joaquin Niemann and David Puig. To break even, the coming days will reportedly see these LIV golfers teeing it up on the Asian Tour. Thus, highly ranked LIV golfers like World No. 80 Lucas Herbert, World No. 81 Joaquin Niemann, and World No. 95 Dean Burmester will all be seen teeing it up at the Asian Tour’s International Series Oman, set to begin Thursday at the Al Mouj Golf Club.

While their LIV Golf schedule remains relaxed as per its initial promise, the paucity of time in these golfers’ hands seems to have become an everlasting dilemma if they are to fulfill their dreams of getting major wins. But are they alone in their dreams to take part in the majors?

Which LIV golfers have dared to dream of the Majors this week?

The short answer is that the above-mentioned LIV golfers are not alone in their endeavors to balance their big-money choices with their big aspirations. This week’s Asian Tour has 21 LIV golfers on its roster. This includes Louis Oosthuizen, David Puig, Mito Pereira, and Abraham Ancer, all in the top 200 world rankings.

Further, other aspiring golfers, albeit not ranked as high as their counterparts, are also part of the field. This subset includes names like Charles Schwartzel, Kieran Vincent, Jinichiro Kozuma, Matt Jones, Eugenio Chacarra, Scott Vincent, Anirban Lahiri, Matthew Wolff, Branden Grace, Carlos Ortiz, Sebastian Munoz, Peter Uihlein, Hudson Swafford, and Danny Lee.

All in all, the four Majors seem to have caught the attention of the so-called bygone players. Whether they will be able to meet the cut or not is a matter that only time can decide. But their attempts to move a step closer from February 22nd to February 25th will be a sight to witness.
