“We are almost family here,” said a happy Kieran Vincent following his team’s third win of 2024. The Legions XIII GC had put up a figure of 40-under over the three days of play to beat the likes of Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC by five strokes. And the Zimbabwean LIV Golf Pro was especially appreciative of his skipper, Jon Rahm, who led the team to victory at The Grove.

Vincent was spotted addressing the media in a press conference on June 24, Sunday after the LIV Golf event in Nashville. He made sure to point out, albeit hilariously, how Rahm had finished tied at T3 despite having an injured leg; “Jon, with probably half a foot still being able to dominate the way that he does, just walking around in HOKAs this week. You’re not going to see that very often.”

The Spaniard had suffered an injury between his toes which subsequently led to an infection and a WD from the Houston event. He was also forced to pull out of the 2024 U.S. Open making Nashville his comeback tournament amid recovery. But come the first round of the contest at The Grove, the golfer could only finish T20 tied with 11 other golfers owing to a figure of 70 (-1). He did so while carding 4 birdies and 3 bogeys.

Fast forward to Saturday. Surprisingly, Rahm divulged how he didn’t think much of the injury in the second round as he said, “Yesterday it bugged me a little bit, and it’s just in the back of your head for a second… but not today. Never really questioned not being able to swing it, and I think that’s what made the difference.” The Spanish golfer also admitted how he walked the 18 holes nearly pain-free. Well, that was much evident in the pro’s gameplay, seeing as how he dished out 9 birdies and 1 bogey to put up 63 (-8).

Jon Rahm was able to keep his momentum on the final day’s play as well. He finished at T3 tied with DeChambeau, Lee Westwood, and Joaquin Niemann after Sunday’s 68 (-3) helped him register an overall 12-under. Vincent, thus, made sure to compliment the 2023 Masters champ all the while pointing out the injury in his leg. But wait! What about the other teammates? Well, he didn’t forget them either.

Jon Rahm’s teammate, Kieron Vincent, dishes out praises for Legion XIII GC

“I think most of us wanted this win for Tyrrell more than I think even he might have,” confessed Vincent as he alluded to Tyrrell Hatton’s win at Nashville. He topped the scoreboard with figures of 65-64-65 helping him card a 19-under overall to win by a whopping six strokes. He also praised the champ for being “one of the best players both on and off the course,” while praising his talent and demeanor.

Vincent also didn’t shy away from complimenting Caleb Surrat. He said, “Caleb coming out in front of his home crowd and not having his best stuff but still beating after the field shows what a caliber of player he is.” The pro had finished at T25 with an overall score of 5-under. Regardless of the numbers, he received tremendous support from the spectators and team members alike. One can’t help but agree with Rahm’s teammate when he said, “We are basically like family!”
