Koepka's family support at the Open—Does this give him an edge over his competitors?

“This weekend we both have “major weeks”!!” revealed Jena Sims ahead of the 2024 PGA Championship. Unfortunately, it meant she wouldn’t be by Brooks Koepka’s side when he tees off at Valhalla. Now, let us jump a few weeks to the fourth major of the season. After the misfortune at the second major, the fans would surely be curious as to whether the American actress would be accompanying her life partner with their baby when he tees off at the 2024 Open Championship.

The answer to that question is a solid ‘Yes’. A series of pictures and videos were shared on Sims’ Instagram handle, showcasing her current whereabouts with Crew Koepka. It included the SI Swimsuit model enjoying the Troon Beach Front with their baby boy, all the while confirming her presence for the upcoming major at Royal Troon.

The 34-year-old athlete would, meanwhile, be hoping to clinch his first-ever Open Championship trophy from Royal Troon. Koepka has, till now, a total of nine starts at the major with two of them being missed cuts and four top-10 finishes. His best placement at the event came at the 2019 edition of the tournament in Royal Portrush when the athlete scored a 6-under 278 at T4.

That’s not all. He would hope to achieve the feat at the first Open Championship that he would be participating in with his son witnessing the same. The baby boy, who is close to turning a year old, was earlier spotted with the LIV Golf Pro on the greens at Royal Troon. The official Instagram handle of the major championship shared a snippet of an adorable moment between the father and son on the course.

Koepka was seen practicing his game with his son watching by the side in his pram. The golfer took some time off in between his shots, played with his boy a little, and then went back to his practice. The video was shared with a caption as well; “Dad duties at Royal Troon,” which elicited a lot of positive reactions from the community. Well, it seems the athlete is off to a good start ahead of the major, as opposed to the one at Valhalla which saw him put up a dismal performance amid his wife’s absence from the same.

Have an interesting take?

Brooks Koepka’s wife had divulged, back in May, how she would not be attending the PGA Championship but instead would be present for the SI Swimsuit magazine. I wish,” replied the actress when queried about the same by her fan, “It’s my major week as well, with the launch of @si_swimsuit issue that I’m a Rookie in!! I have events Thursday-Sunday for that.”

The iconic magazine was having its 60th-anniversary celebrations alongside its 2024 edition release. It was held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida where many including Paige Spiranac attended. How did his wife’s absence end up for the golfer? Well, the LIV Golf Pro failed to leave a mark at the event as he finished T26, with figures of 9-under 275. However, with wife Jena Sims and son Crews Koepka’s support at Royal Troon, he may very well be lined up for a victory at the 152nd Open championship. His fans would be hoping for the same!
