Only 18 holes remain until the conclusion of LIV Golf Houston. The limited 54 field players have been battling it out at the Golf Club in Houston before they move on to the third major of the season—the 2024 U.S. Open. The innovative league, like always, has $25 million up for grabs, and all the players are guaranteed to receive money.
From the $25 million, $20 million gets distributed between the golfers, whereas the remaining $5 million is kept for the top three teams at the end of the event. The individual winner of LIV Golf Houston will receive $4 million from the lucrative prize purse. The runner-up will get $2.25 million and the third on the leaderboard will still bag $1.5 million.
In the team competition, with the black trophy, the winning team will get a 60% cut from the $5 million, which comes out to be $3 million. Each member of the team will get $750,000, equally distributed among them. The total prize breakdown is below.

The 54 players’ field of any LIV Golf event rarely changes. However, LIV Golf Houston was an exception, as two-star players from the breakaway circuit left the Houston greens and were replaced thereafter.

Jon Rahm and Louis Oosthuizen withdraw from LIV Golf Houston
After playing his opening round and carding a score of 3 under 69, Louis Oosthuizen withdrew from the event. Later, it was revealed that the South African pro was suffering from a lower back and thus, decided to discontinue the play. Meanwhile, Jon Rahm was seemingly playing the Friday round with an injury.
During the first round, the Spaniard had some movement issues but was able to score 3 under 69 and was tied for 15 position with Oosthuizen. On the second day, Rahm played six holes (all par) and then decided to withdraw from the event. As per LIV Golf, a foot infection was cited as the reason for his early exit. The two pros were replaced by Wade Ormsby and Ben Campbell, respectively.

Jon Rahm sustained an injury at a very crucial time as the U.S. Open is just four days away. The injury could, might prove to be a nightmare for Rahm. it could not only affect his performance at Pinehurst but also possibly stop him from playing at the third major of this season. Regardless, the LIV Golf Houston has moved forward without the two players and soon the victory will be standing at the podium.
