LIV Golf is now headed to Houston for its eighth event. After a successful weekend at the Serapong Golf Club, in May, with Brooks Koepka lifting the trophy, it is time for LIV Golf Houston. Scheduled from June 7 to June 9, for players at the Golf Club of Houston, the prize purse for the event is a whopping $25 million, from which $5 million will be distributed among the top three teams. All 54 players will be vying for the individual trophy and the $4 million winner’s cut along with it. But who has the highest possibility of grabbing the win at the eighth tournament?

Joaquin Niemann
The Torque GC captain, Joaquin Niemann, participated in all seven championships held earlier. Apart from the LIV Golf Las Vegas, he has managed to grab a Top-10 position in the remaining six, which included two wins at the Mayakoba and the Jeddah. Dubbed the ‘hottest player’, he currently has the highest number of wins this season. Apart from that, he has also received invitations to the Masters, the PGA Championship, and the Open.

Niemann is placed second on the list of highest birdies scored, with an average of five birdies per round, and also ranks the same in eagles, with an average of 0.29 eagles per round. His feats of victory have marked him as a force to be reckoned with on the greens, making him the No. 1 player in the 2024 LIV Golf individual standings.
Jon Rahm
Jon Rahm joined the Breakaway League in December 2023 and started playing in the circuit this season. Ever since he joined them, he has failed to grab any wins. However, his demonstration of the game has been quite impressive so far. Rahm has bagged 5 Top-5 finishes this season and is currently ranked No. 2 in the 2024 LIV Golf individual standings. Although Jon Rahm is in the second position, he has a birdie score higher than Joaquin Niemann, topping the list with an average of 5.24 birdies per round. The Houston championship will be a great opportunity for him to open his books.
Brooks Koepka
Brooks Koepka grabbed his first win of the season at LIV Golf Singapore in May. The Smash GC Captain became the first active LIV Golfer to lift a Majors trophy (PGA Championship 2023). Unable to defend his title last month, Koepka will look for redemption at his next and upcoming appearance on the field. He is currently in the 5th position in the 2024 LIV Golf individual standings.
Talor Gooch
Talor Gooch has been listed as one of the most consistent performers ever since he joined the league. Last year, he also won the season-long individual championship after winning three events. He’s played for Smash GC, RangeGoats GC, and 4Aces GC. Despite all of these feats, he has failed to lift a trophy this year. His best finish was a T2 at the Las Vegas Championship this year, and with only four top-10 finishes, Gooch will surely be a top contender vying for the win.

Dustin Johnson
Dustin Johnson came out triumphant at the Las Vegas Championship in February, bagging a runner-up position for his team. However, despite acquiring the fifth position in Mayakoba and the seventh position in Singapore, the captain of the 4Aces GC dropped below the Top-25 list for the rest of the championship. He is now looking forward to getting back on his winning trail at the Golf Club of Houston.
