One thing’s for sure: LIV Golf did not have as many weather mishaps as the PGA Tour did in the 2024 season (just last week at the Wyndham Championship, things turned nightmarish on the Tour). Yes, there were small hiccups with showers but compared to its arch-rival, the breakaway league sailed smoothly.
Now, LIV Golf will be moving to the historical The Old White for the penultimate event before concluding the 2024 season. It will either crown Joaquin Niemann as the individual champion or the fans will have to wait until LIV Golf Chicago for it. But will the play go smoothly or will the weather turn against the breakaway league?

We don’t want to be the bearer of bad news, but the report says that LIV Golf Greenbrier will start on a wet Friday at Greenbrier’s first 18-hole course, the Old White in White Sulphur Springs. The temperature for the first round will be as high as 81F and as the day progresses, it will drop to 67F. The field will start the day at 1:15 p.m. ET, with early showers dampening the Old White, as LIV Golf reported.
Throughout the day, there will be a 60% chance of precipitation, with scattered thunderstorms developing in the area. The golfers will have to be more cautious of every shot they take, as storms may have strong gusty winds, but they will go back to normal once they pass. As seen, the players will have to be prepared for a softened course, which may ease their chances of leading a bit more.
Will a similar course of weather forecast follow on the second round of LIV Golf Greenbrier? Unfortunately, yes. It will be a cloudy day for the field, with winds blowing between 5 mph and 10 mph. With a 50% chance of rain, there will be showers here and there, making it a little rough for the golfers. The temperatures will fall between 86 °F and 65 °F.
The inclement will not disrupt the LIV Golf Greenbrier for the first time. Last year as well, the inclement weather created havoc at the Old White Course, and the tee time was moved because of potential danger. Will a similar fate follow in the final round of the 2024 edition too?
