Can the LIV Golf Greenbrier pairings shake up the leaderboard and give us a new champion?

Will Talor Gooch’s luck come through? It seems that after having a relatively ordinary 2024 season, the 32-year-old has finally found his form back and may win his fourth LIV Golf title in just two days. Gooch performed exceptionally in the opening round of the LIV Golf Greenbrier at the Old White and carded a bogey-free 7 under 63 to enter a three-way lead after day one.

He shares the lead with teammate Jason Korak and Colombian pro-Sebastian Munoz. The three are paired together for the Saturday round and will start at hole no. 1 at the shotgun time, 11:15 a.m. EST. Following at T4 is LIV Golf JCB winner Jon Rahm, only a stroke behind the leader with the only 4-time LIV Golf winner, Brooks Koepka. The two top stars with Matt Jones will start their round on par-4 on the 2nd hole.

Where is the reigning US Open winner, you ask? Well, Bryson DeChambeau has dropped down the leaderboard and isn’t having his best game at the moment. The 2-time major winner shot 2 under 68 with five birdies and three bogeys to be T24. For the second round, his playing partners will be Danny Lee and Martin at hole 7.

The 56 golfers’ field and the patrons at the Old White would hope that the weather does not take a turn for the worse as it did on the first day, making the opening round delayed by 1 hour and 19 minutes. Will the weather favor the field or are showers expected in Greenbrier?

Will it rain at LIV Golf Greenbrier round 2?

The eastern delta of the United States, including West Virginia, will be covered in clouds. Thus, the second day of the LIV Golf Greenbrier will also be partly cloudy. Moreover, there will be a 50% chance of rain, with a scattered shower or even a thunderstorm predicted to pour down at the Old White course in Greenbrier.

If a similar condition as the opening round follows, the tee time might get pushed back once again, and the players will have to greet the wetter course conditions. This may, in turn, work in the favor of or against the pros. The temperatures will range between 86 °F and 65 °F, with wind blowing at a speed of 5 to 10 mph.

With unpredictable weather, the golfers’ challenge will double at Greenbrier. But the one rising above the hurdles will claim the trophy and the $4 million winner’s check. Who will turn out to be a leader after 36 holes? Stay tuned to find out!
