The much anticipated Ryder Cup 2023 is going to be bigger than ever. Scheduled to take place at the famous Marco Simone Golf and Country Club, Rome, Italy from the 25th of September to the 1st of October, the 44th edition already has brought in a lot of controversies even before it began. And since last year Jay Monahan suspended all LIV players from Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup, the dispute arises if this 2023 Ryder Cup would allow LIV defectors, who left the PGA Tour for a lucrative amount. Thus, it is to see if this season the LIV players can prove themselves and qualify for the teams of the Ryder Cup through the points system.
Among all the LIV defectors, it is likely that the back-to-back LIV title winner Talor Gooch, might have chances at the cup, owing to his performance. But Gooch has been surrounded by controversy regarding the statements he made on the coveted tournament last year. And he has now made another statement regarding his participation in the coveted tournament.

Despite being the most consistent performer of LIV Golf so far, with two consecutive wins in Adelaide and Singapore and his exceptional win at Valderrama, he was somehow left unnoticed by the Ryder Cup and the 2023 U.S. Ryder Cup squad Captain Zach Johnson, as well.
Thus, currently ranking 6th on the leaderboard of 2023 LIV Golf London, he made a thought-provoking assertion in an interview, which reflected his modest nature regarding his Ryder Cup chances, “Yeah, I’m not going to probably have — my voice probably isn’t going to mean much. My play is what’s going to matter. Just go out there and try to prove that I’m a good enough quality player that they can’t deny it, and I’ve got a couple more weeks to do that, and we’ll see.”
In this entire interview, Gooch stayed very grounded but also emphasized the fact that his game will speak for itself. Therefore, he’s just hoping for the best as far as his Ryder Cup chances stand.
