Days After Donald Trump’s Bryson DeChambeau Praise, Dustin Johnson Divulges His ‘Years’ Long Relationship With the Former POTUS

The LIV Golf clan was earlier in Greenbrier wherein Bryson DeChambeau achieved his maiden win by shooting a remarkable score of 58. After the stunning feat, the LIV clan is now at Trump National in Bedminster, wherein the stakes are just as high for the golfers. Although LIV Golf has not been much appreciated by fans since its inception, former POTUS Donald Trump has been its supporter from day one.

Donald Trump’s connection with LIV has been a known tale for a long time now but there are some new intriguing details about the kind of relationship one LIV golfer shares with him. Just after the conclusion of the first round in Bedminister, Dustin Johnson spoke about his connection with the former American President.

Trump has been vocally appreciating and supporting LIV Golf, even before the league was inaugurated. During the first season as well, the Saudi-backed league organized its three events on the golf courses owned by Donald Trump. This year too, many events were organized at the Trump-owned golf courses, and the relationship between the two has only gotten stronger.

Currently, as well, the LIV golfers are in New Jersey, in Bedminster, at Trump National, where they will be going head-to-head for the hefty prize money of $25 million. After the first round, an interviewer asked DJ about what kind of relationship he shares with Donald Trump as Trump followed DJ’s group for quite a while. Johnson said that he has known the former POTUS for quite a while now. He was present during the golfer’s Doral win. 

The 2020 Masters champion also said that the two even play golf together sometimes. Extending upon the kind of relationship they both have, Johnson said, “We’ve had a nice friendship over the years.” When asked if Trump’s presence will distract him on the tee, DJ said that the only person who can distract him is him, and not anybody else. 

This is not the first time that Donald Trump has been actively engaged in a LIV golf tournament or has marked his presence at one. Just recently, around 4 days ago, he actively appreciated Bryson DeChambeau for his stellar victory and even promised to follow the golfer around like a fan!

The former American President has been family friends with the DeChambeau for a long period of time, as revealed by his favorite author Nick Adams. The praise from the ex-President was indeed in the news after DeChambeau shot his round of 58 and grabbed his first LIV win. 

Trump referred to The Scientist as a “great golfer” and crowned him the title of “Mr. 58.” Trump also said that the significance of this score would only be understood by someone who plays golf. In his post praising the golfer, he explicitly mentioned that he would be one of the fans, who would be following the golfer. And indeed he did!
