Days After Brutally Shutting Down LIV Golf Rumors, Jon Rahm Takes an Unpredictable Stance on Bryson DeChambeau’s Historic Feat

Distinct records and accolades are now and then claimed in the golf arena by talented players. Once such virtuoso was once again found in the likes of LIV Golf athlete Bryson DeChambeau. No doubt the golfer has had quite a few exemplary finishes this season but till this Sunday he had no win under his belt.

However, that isn’t the case anymore; dominating the Old White greens, the 29-year-old showcased the flair he holds with the club in hand. His exceptional execution to claim the 2023 LIV Golf Greenbrier title was such that many in the golf world were left stunned by the golfer’s abilities. One such entity who showered the LIV Pro with praise for his extraordinary finish was Jon Rahm. Despite his recent statements at odds with the rebel league, Rahm couldn’t hold back from appreciating the accomplishment of its player.

Golf more often than not finds itself surrounded by an uplifting aura. Both professionals and golf enthusiasts find themselves not stepping back from applauding an individual when the moment arises. Something similar happened when Bryson DeChambeau clinched a victory at the Old White Course.

The victory came with a stunning record of posting the lowest score in the history of the LIV Golf. This allowed the golfer to finish the tournament at a surreal 23 under 187 (12-under 58 in the third round). Besides that, he was also successful in collecting 13 birdies during the last round, which was exceptional in itself. While this win grabbed enormous applause from everyone in the golf dynamics, Jon Rahm also joined in to congratulate the 2020 US Open winner.

Acknowledging the historic merit of the triumph, the Spanish star came forward with a tweet admiring Bryson DeChambeau. This was rather unexpected from the professional given his last week’s standing with the Saudi-backed league.

However, keeping aside all the concerns, Rahm displayed his admiration for the great feat achieved by the American Professional. Impressed by the golfer’s score, he wrote, “No matter who or where you are playing, 58 on a Sunday to win is an incredible accomplishment!” Rahm even went a step ahead and congratulated the golf star on his win. He wrote, “Congrats @b_dechambeau on your win today at the Greenbrier.”

Yet, despite penning down an appreciation post for the LIV Golfer, the Spanish star just a week back had issued strong statements regarding the league which featured a strong dismissal.

Usually, the questions regarding LIV Golf and PGA Tour find a way to be presented in front of the star players from both leagues. Hence, just last week when Jon Rahm has a similar encounter, it wasn’t shocking for many. Although his response to the associations with the Saudi-backed league was sure astonishing.

While mentioning LIV tournaments, World No.3 said, “I laugh when people rumor me with @livgolf_league.” As per the golfer, the 54-hole format with no cuts was never to his liking. Despite being on friendly terms with LIV golfers like Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia, the 2023 Masters winner had no intention of joining them in playing the game in a non-traditional manner.
