The feud between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour is nothing new, as, since its inception, there have been multiple instances where fans or critics were seen taking sides. However, this time, LIV Golf chose a unique way of roasting a PGA Tour player for his career. A recent video from Cleeks Golf Club’s official account was posted with the team member directly poking the PGA professional.
The video started with Martin Kaymer saying, “Max, it has been a long time, buddy.” Following this, the post of Max Homa was shared. Back in 2023, Homa humorously posted in X to ask to change the name of a few golf clubs, one of which was Cleek Golf Club. Homa posted, “Now that we’re all friends, it is too late for us to workshop some of these team names,” and below that it had, “wtf is a Cleek?”
For which, the post captioned, “💬 Finally we can clarify @Maxhoma” was shared. The post from the LIV Golf team had every team member sharing what Cleek means by answering Homa’s question. However, the answers were witty enough to poke the PGA professional’s career.

Following the captain, Richard Bland’s clip was next which shared, “A Cleek looks something like this.” Continuing further in the video, Adrian Meronk also joined in and said, “I would say it’s talent with a touch of tradition.” At last Frederik Kjettrup also answered the question of what’s a cleek saying, “Come on Max, even I know what a Cleek is and I just got here.”

Ex-LIV golfer on not getting Majors access
On social media, the spat might seem funny, but in reality, for LIV golfers, it is a tough one to get into the Majors. As per the recent rejection from OWGR, the players are only dependent on the PGA Tour event that they play. Sharing on the same line, ex-LIV golfer Eugenio Chacarra shared his views.
Chacarra was one of the first golfers to join the Saudi league with a three-year contract. However, his contract ended in 2024 and wasn’t renewed, which led him to switch leagues. After serving a 12-month ban, he can join the PGA Tour, but interestingly he shared some of the insight from his deal and praised the PGA Tour over LIV.
He shared with Tom Hobbs, Flushing It on X, “When I joined LIV they promised OWGR and majors.” Adding further, he said how he was misled, “But it didn’t happen. I trusted them. I was the first young guy, then the others came after I made the decision. But OWGR and majors still hasn’t happened. I saw you last year when they pulled the bid.”

He continued to praise the PGA Tour as he said, “I see what it’s like to win on the PGA Tour and how your life changes. How you get major access and ranking points.” While talking about LIV, Chacarra mentioned LIV is only money if nothing changes.
Even though the league’s social media has played smart over Max Homa, the reality shared by the player is the same as felt by other LIV golfers. Following this event, fans were commenting on the thread with a similar response. The spat might’ve seemed to get a bit longer with the new advancements in it. But what are your thoughts on it?
