LIV Golf is returning to America this week after a short break, and the next event is going to be in Chicago. The tournament will be hosted at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois. One week ahead of the Ryder Cup. The inaugural event was held outside of Chicago. The event will see many of the leading names in golf as its participants.
This is the 12th event on LIV’s 2023 schedule, and like all other matches, it will have team and individual rounds with separate prize purses for each. Before the game begins on Friday, let’s take a look at who is playing this week in Chicago.

Like every LIV event, the tournament will be a 54-hole individual stroke play event with an added team element. Four-man teams have been selected on Monday, and a fixed number of their total scores will be counted for every team at the end of every day. The leading name among those to watch out for during the three days is Cameron Smith, the defending champion this year. He won the individual round of the inaugural event last year and won by three strokes over Dustin Johnson and Peter Uihlein. Moreover, he has already won two events this year and will be eyeing a third this week.
Another player to keep an eye on is Bryson DeChambeau. Last year, the Scientist finished eighth, and this year he returns having found his first victory at Greenbrier Bedminster, where he scored a rare 58. Other than that, he has also delivered some top-ten results in LIV and will look forward to another win.
Another big name playing in the event is Brooks Koepka. One week before his big and ultimate dreamy participation in the Ryder Cup, Koepka is making sure that he doesn’t miss any opportunity.
Already on a hot roll with blockbuster performances, he will look forward to another win. Another strong player in Chicago will be Dustin Johnson. Other than him, big names like Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia, who haven’t been able to score a win this year, will also play.
The only certainty at the event is that none of these stars will have an easy time grabbing a win, especially with the multimillion-dollar rewards at stake for the winner!
