The captain of Ripper GC, Cameron Smith, finished fifth with 4 under after round one in the ongoing LIV Golf Adelaide. A bogey-free round is the best way to begin with, and Smith has nailed it off by carding 68.

The Australian golfer is paired up with Matt Jones, and Marc Leishman is geared up to do wonders in the second round. Undoubtedly, his game skills are wonderful, but so is his bag, which carries all the superpowers to rock the greens!

The Australian is currently a Titleist Brand Ambassador and carries a full bag of it. He shifted to the TSR3 driver from the TSR2, due to its features like most adjustable heads and moveable weight in the back of the head. This is considered to be the best driver. It also has a premium look and feel, is consistently fast and forgiving, and helps create tighter dispersion. The driver is available for $599 and is best paired with a Fujikura Ventus Blue 6X shaft.

When it comes to the fairway wood, the LIV golfer replaced the TSi2 three-wood with a Ping G430 Max that he uses with a Fujikura Ventus Blue 8 X shaft. Again, one of the best tools, with its versatility and high launch characteristics, is priced at $599.00. In addition to that, his bag also has a Titleist TS2 seven-wood, which is available for $349 and comes with a UST Elements Red 8F5 (X) shaft. The golfer uses both of the tools at a 45-degree angle. However, the use of the seven-wood is completely dependent upon the course conditions.

The golfer keeps on switching it with his other gem, a Titleist U500 3-iron, which is an extremely versatile tool, offers low-loft utility, and is designed for superior shot-making. “I’ll switch [the U500] in and out with the 7-wood if I need something off the tee that just kind of gets going and finds the fairway every time. The 7-wood is more for if there are a few longer par-5s where I’m going to hit the 7-wood into the green a few times,” said Smith. The utility iron is available for $199.99.

There’s a lot more left to explore in Smith’s bag, so let’s dive even deeper!

Irons, wedges, putters, and fashion!

The LIV Golfer has been using the same set of irons for a while now. His beautiful black set of the 2021 Titleist T100s, four-to-nine-iron, is all fitted with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 Black Onyx shafts. This helps to enhance speed and launch. It also provides a better feel and turf interaction and is priced at $999.99. The reason behind the black clubs is simple: “The black looks a lot tighter, and it keeps a little bit of the shine off,” said Smith. Alongside that, sometimes he also uses a Mizuno Pro Fli-Hi three-iron, available for $250.

The wedges used by the golfer are the extremely popular Titleist Vokey SM9s with 46, 52, and 56 lofts, set to 60 degrees, and used with KBS Tour 130 X shafts. The tool has the most technologically advanced design and is available for $149. He uses a beautiful black-finished Scotty Cameron 009 prototype.

He carries the iconic Titleist Pro V1x golf ball. Smith’s words explain it well: “I’ll always put it straight in the bag. I trust what they’re doing with it. After a couple of tournaments, I’m always comfortable knowing what it will do. I’ve been playing the Pro V1x since I was about 15 years old and have never changed. I love how it spins around the greens.”

Apart from his golf bag, the LIV champion always remains high on fashion. Always seen in some of the best golf polos on the greens by Original Penguin, he pairs his apparel with the Packard-designed FootJoy shoes. Are you excited to see how he fairs up in Adelaide?
