The advent of LIV Golf created waves of controversy in the sporting world. This was also the case with many of the players, as they went ahead to join the Saudi-backed league during its inception. And Brooks Koepka had found himself in the midst of all the backlash owing to his switch to the same.
The golfer still continues to experience a lot of adverse reactions from many golf enthusiasts, as can be seen from his recent appearance and the crowd reaction at the Ryder Cup. But nevertheless, he has surely received support from many others too. And in a surprising update on her social media, his mother came out in support of the LIV golfer in a bid to “clarify” some facts about his whopping $130 million deal!

Koepka was one of the first few PGA Tour stars to join the PIF-funded league back in 2022. The American signed a deal worth $130 million as a signing fee to join, just as the bitter feud between the PGA Tour and LIV reached an all-time high. Moreover, Alan Shipnuck had gone ahead to report about the same in his book. However, it seems like what he said was far from the truth!
The American sportswriter had revealed how Koepka and his mother cried when they were able to land the multimillion-dollar deal. But the LIV star’s mom, Denise Jakows, took to Twitter to bust that myth wide open, mentioning how she and her son had only cried together the day he was born.
Adding to the story, she revealed how the ex-news anchor shed tears when her young child was “testing lungs for the first time,” all the while expressing gratitude now that “the pregnancy ordeal was over.” Moreover, the mother then went ahead to shut down the rumors surrounding the deal as she concluded the tweet with the words “End of story.”
Just to clarify, the only time my son @BKoepka and I cried together was when he was born. He was testing lungs for the first time; I was glad the pregnancy ordeal was over. End of story.

Well, such a strong declaration of support and brush aside of the report couldn’t have come at a better time considering that, as per the book, the defector is also alleged to have issued a comment about a few PGA Tour stars, who coincidentally he played with during the Ryder Cup last week!

Shipnuck, in his book, also reported that the 5X major champion had once said, “F**k all those country club kids who talk s**t about me,” referring to the likes of Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas, among others. The comment was alleged to have been made during a LIV social gathering in July 2022, more than a year before he made the Ryder Cup team.

Brooks Koepka, the only golfer to be selected from the Saudi-backed league for the international face-off, appeared to share a good relationship with his team.
