0-3! Quite a disappointing thing to look at if you’re on the left side of the figure. That is how Bryson DeChambeau must have felt after a dismal Saturday in Dallas. His squad lost the chance to defend their title as champions at the Maridoe Golf Club. No worries… as he managed to turn things around and become the champion of the people. You may ask how! Well, it’s all thanks to an amazing gesture he made on Saturday for a fan.
The golfer was spotted signing autographs following his loss to Kevin Na & Co. The moment that captured the hearts of many was when he took special time and care to attend to a disabled fan in a wheelchair. Suffice it to say, the video went viral on the internet, garnering heartwarming responses from many. Way to go, DeChambeau!

What makes it special, you might be thinking? Unfortunately, it’s the Crushers GC’s crushing defeat to Iron Heads GC that made it all the more unique. The four golfers failed to even garner a point, as DeChambeau lost to Danny Lee (2 up) and Paul Casey lost to Scott Vincent (1 up) in Singles.

Meanwhile, Anirban Lahiri and Charles Howell III found their match in Na and Jinichiro Kozuma, who defeated them 3&1. How about now? Does the special moment feel more wholesome now that the picture of the loss is painted clearly? That’s how many fans felt as they reacted to the same.
Bryson DeChambeau’s fan service wins over golf world
The Crushers GC skipper wasn’t always the crowd favorite. Between 2020 and 2022, he found himself in quite a lot of controversies, most of which led to heavy criticism. Bragging about how easy it is to play at Augusta in 2020, expressing how his “driver sucks” in 2021, the feud with Brooks Koepka, and his jump to LIV Golf—none of it helped his image as an athlete or a person. But now, the athlete has made a complete U-turn, becoming one of the most liked golfers in the sport. A fan agreed as well when they commented, “@b_dechambeau is easily one of the most likable pro golfers out there. At first, he seemed quirky and smug, but he’s definitely grown to be a fan favorite no matter what tour he’s playing.“

Have an interesting take?
Now, how did he make that U-turn to become a ‘good persona’ in the world of golf? It’s all thanks to him dishing out content after content via his social media and YouTube channels. What’s more, his interaction with fans and spectators has surely made him a favorite in the community. Remember his reaction when a grown man swiped a ball he threw to a kid at the PGA Championship? All of those moments have added to his likability. Many had the same opinion this time around as well, commenting on how amazing he was: “So cool. Dude is amazing”, “He’s the best,” and “Bro is the goat.”
Another fan, at the same time, was a bit more emotional in his response to the heartwarming instance. “How to make a grown man cry,” wrote a follower as he watched Bryson DeChambeau follow Rory McIlroy’s suit and bond with the fan. Yes, you read that right! The Northern Irishman also boasts a special bond with a fan named Kyler, which has lasted for more than a decade. Their interactions have been nothing short of touching every time. Has ‘The Scientist’ found himself another admirer, just like the 4-time major champ did? Whether he has or not, it certainly made that fan’s day!
