John Daly, Sergio Garcia, Paige Spiranac, and finally… Phil Mickelson! Know what all of them have in common? They were once Bryson DeChambeau’s guest in his ‘Break 50’ videos, but there’s one more similarity. All of their careers are deeply rooted in the sport of golf. However, surprisingly, it’s not these golfers who were able to clinch the title of the LIV Golf Pro’s ‘Best Partner’ but someone who is not even a professional athlete. Enter Donald Trump, the former POTUS.
Over the years, the ‘Scientist’ has collaborated with many individuals, including Martin Borgmeier, Grant Horvat, and Garrett Clark, not to mention professional golfers. Even so, only once has the LIV Golf Pro reached close to the objective of the show, to break a 50 on a golf course. And he did so with Trump while carding a 22 under overall in the two-man scramble.
Over the 18 holes that the pro golfer and the politician teed off in, they carded 12 birdies alongside 5 eagles. Had they birdied or scored an eagle on the par-3, 121-yard 6th hole and at the Trump Bedminster, then the duo could have very well broken 50 on that layout from the front tees. It would have been a first for DeChambeau in his videos as well.

What about the others, then? Interestingly enough, aside from the ex-president of the United States, the closest Bryson DeChambeau has reached is when he teed off with Spiranac and Horvat. He collaborated with the 31-year-old model back in March 2024 to score a 20-under while putting up an 18-under with John Daly, a 15-under with Phil Mickelson, and a 19-under with Sergio Garcia. “You know, look, we didn’t break 50,” admitted the pro at the end of the video with the diva. “But we tied Grant. How do you feel, Grant?”
We wouldn’t know how the content creator would feel. But Donald Trump, on the other hand, is a different matter entirely. For he had mentioned how “This is going to be one of the greatest rounds of golf ever played,” even before hitting the greens with the 31-year-old LIV Golf pro. Needless to say, the content did rake in a lot of admiration from the viewers, not to mention dollar bills as well!

The philanthropic side of the Bryson DeChambeau-Donald Trump collab
Just a week after the iconic collaboration dropped, the video managed to surpass 10 million views on YouTube. Fast forward to the present, and it has totaled 12,723,998+ views. Impressive, isn’t it? More so if you look at how they managed to donate $220,000, all thanks to the pledge they made before the partnership.
What’s your perspective on:
Did Donald Trump just outshine pro golfers as Bryson DeChambeau's best partner on the course?
Have an interesting take?
“Wanted to make it about charity and the Wounded Warriors Foundation,” said Bryson DeChambeau at the LIV Golf UK event. “I’ve done a lot for them in the past, and it was fantastic to see that he was willing to support it.”

Interestingly enough, the golfer and the politician duo had pledged to donate $10,000 for every birdie and $20,000 for every eagle they carded at Trump Bedminster. Maybe the 1 million subscribers or the 12 million views weren’t the important figures, but the dollar bills that they managed to rake in. Regardless, it does manage to bring a smile to one’s face!
