The Saudi-backed LIV Golf league has been at an all-time high this year, with many feathers added to its hat. Compared to the league’s inaugural season, the excitement around this year’s events has been way more. Just a couple of days ago, the Bedminster event at Trump National was concluded, and Cameron Smith earned his third LIV Golf victory along with the hefty prize money of $4 million

His team Ripper GC also won its first-ever LIV event. The all-Australian clan was thrilled. With his victory, Smith also became the new number one in the season-long points race. The golfer was elated with the feat, and his comments about his game were truly enthralling. Let’s dive into the story.

After his victory in New Jersey, Smith could not contain his excitement, and so could not his teammates. They all engaged in a traditional Australian celebration where they drank from their shoes. It was indeed an insane celebration

After the celebrations, the 29-year-old lad spoke to Mike McAllister, the Editorial Director of LIV Golf. He asked the golfer how he felt about regaining the top position on the LIV leaderboard. The golfer, in his response, talked about his consistency that McAllister found very “revealing.”

The 2022 Open Championship winner confessed that he has had a couple of bad weeks that he would like to take back. Other than the regret, he spoke about his game’s consistency, and said, “I feel like I’m playing the most consistent golf and the best golf that I’ve played. It’s nice to be able to do that week in and week out.”

The 5X PGA winner then spoke about how being consistent was his goal and how he worked for it. “It’s something that I’ve worked for, something that was a goal of mine at the start of the year was to be up there with at least a chance for the last event.” The golfer was also excited to “get right back into it” after his stellar win.

The golfer said that five weeks is a long break for any golfer. He said that for the first two weeks, he would just hang his clubs and relax a little after back-to-back events. But once the two-week rest period is over, he would pick those clubs up, get right back into the game, and begin his practice.

Smith’s first win in the LIV Golf was in Chicago during the inaugural season, and he is very excited to go back there from September 22 to September 24. He said that is a nice feeling to go back to Chicago, after winning there last year.
