Will Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's star power be enough to save TGL from fan backlash?

The controversial ticket prices of the TGL sparked an uproar from fans, who ridiculed them as outrageous. A few weeks back, the ambitious Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy project, TGL shared a glimpse at the cost of watching the matches directly at the SoFi Center. Fans got agitated when they learned that the tickets were going to be priced at $160 per match.

That didn’t keep them away from following the event to stay updated with everything that was going on. Now, the executives at TGL have tried to market their product again to justify the price of the tickets. Let’s see what the league has shared.

So far, only animated designs and blueprints of the TGL have been revealed. While the concept of TGL was quite clear, fans were yet to see what the course actually looked like. Well, that changed after a recent tweet went viral.

@NUCLRGOLF shared a tweet on their X account showcasing a video from TGL. Featuring Justin Thomas and Patrick Cantlay, the clip gave an inside view of the course at SoFi Center. The advertisement showed the duo from the Atlanta Drive GC TGL team entering the venue. After a few shots of the course, fans could see Justin Thomas hitting from the tee onto the virtual simulator screen. As Thomas introduced Patrick Cantlay, we can see the latter playing a stroke on the fairway. The video ended with Justin Thomas asking, “Any questions?”

The caption on the tweet read, “🚨👀📺 #FIRST LOOK — Inside the TGL’s SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens. Do you plan on watching the virtual league when it kicks off in January?” It seems that TGL tried to build up the anticipation of the event. After the outrage over the ticket prices, the video seems like an attempt to excite the fans about the event and validate the preposterous prices.
