‘Little Annie Won’: An Old Shirtless Photo of Rory McIlroy Resurfaces After His First 2023 Win

After four days of astonishing golf, Rory McIlroy took home the Dubai Desert Classic trophy. However, as the golfer won the DP World Tour event, an old hilarious picture of the world number one has recently resurfaced on the Internet. It is quite apparent that nothing gets past without a take of the golf fans. The picture in question was no exception.

Though Rory scored only 4-under-par in the final round in Dubai, his performance during the previous three days was enough for the Northern Irish star to claim the victory. Undoubtedly, McIlroy may be over the moon to win his first 2023 event, but he may not be pleased with the photo that later on started making rounds on social media. It is a popular opinion that nobody parties harder than the Irish. Though he may belong to the Northern side of Britain, Rory still drives the same passion in his parties. His one such persona was depicted in a recent throwback post shared by Caddie Network on Twitter.

In the photo, a shirtless McIlroy is seen flaunting his abs with a red colored wig next to Stephen Gallacher. The rare snapshot was taken during Team Europe’s 2014 Ryder Cup celebration in the locker room after defeating the Americans. Along with Rory, many other Europeans also sported the red wig and no shirt policy.

As McIlroy posted the picture on his Instagram in 2014, it took only a few hours for the post to go viral. Nonetheless, when asked about the image a few days later, Rory barely could recall the moment. “Honestly, honestly, I don’t remember (laughter). The time line sort of gets a bit fuzzy about midnight”, the then 25-year-old had said.
