It would not be an exaggeration to say that the fans would be looking forward to watching the amateurs’ game more than the pros’ at the 2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. After all, most of the fan-favorite pro golfers are overseas, to play at the Saudi International event.

Although the PGA Tour tournament lacks many professionals, the event will be packed with many celebrities as amateurs. The previous winners, including Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson, will not be playing at the Pro-Am. However, last year’s winner Daniel Berger and fan-favorites Patrick Cantlay and Jordan Spieth would join the celebrities.
The 4-day tournament will begin on February 3rd. And it will be played on the three courses; the Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course, and Monterey Peninsula Country Club’s Shore. There will be two types of tournaments there; a team event and an individual event. The amateurs will only get to play the team event. However, the pros will also be competing against each other at the group event.

The fans will be disappointed in finding some of their favorite professionals will not be playing the Pro-Am. However, the number of celebrities joining the event will make it enjoyable for every fan.
The new faces at the 2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am
The Asian league took most of the professionals. So the Pro-Am decided to upgrade the event by adding many new faces as amateurs.
The list of celebrities debuting at the AT&T event is massive in 2022. Mia Hamm, the two-time Olympic gold medalist, is a great add-on since she loves to win and would be competing with her all might. The game of Dodgers’ outfielder Mookie Betts and professional boxer Canelo Álvarez will be fun as well because of their competitive spirit and history of winning at their respective sports.
Musicians Lucas Nelson and ScHoolboy Q and actor and producer Scott Eastwood will also be part of the amateurs this year.

The amateurs will also include the returning stars of the tournament. Don Cheadle, Kira Dixon, Ray Romano, and Owen Wilson will be some of the returning stars who will be representing the Hollywood community. Meanwhile, former NFL stars like Steve Young and Alex Smith will represent the sports community.
