Charley Hull‘s personality is certainly interesting, or some might say, unique. However, the true answer is subjective and lies with her. Yet, a recent disclosure from her LPGA colleague Melissa Reid has unveiled something intriguing about the English golfer’s character. What could it be?

After the second round of the US Women’s Open, Hull recorded one birdie and three bogeys, finishing at T50 with a total of 147, 7 over par. However, it wasn’t her performance that Reid discussed in an interview live from @GolfChannel, but rather a story about her experience with Hull from the 2017 Solheim Cup instead. Recently Kira K. Dixon the journalist from Golf Channel shared the video of the interview on X.

In the interview, when asked about Charley Hull, Reid began with, “You know with the ADHD, during like the Solheim Week where she actually has to be in places and things like that, it’s like taming a wild animal because I’m always the one trying to find Charley.” Since being diagnosed with ADHD, Hull has struggled with maintaining focus. Reid, who is responsible for organizing team meetings and ensuring Hull’s attendance, often finds herself in this role.

The unpredictability of Hull’s personality becomes more apparent in the video, as Reid discussed a moment when facing Team USA, which included Cristie Kerr and Lexi Thompson. Before making a crucial putt, rather than focusing on the putt that could win the team, Hull instead conversed with her caddie about whether she had booked her massage or not.

The 2017 Solheim Cup ended without victory for the European team, captained by Annika Sorenstam, and whether the English golfer ended up booking the massage remains a mystery. However, she has since found her methods to maintain her mental health.

How does Charley Hull maintain her mental well-being?

The news of Charley Hull’s ADHD surprised the LPGA Tour in July 2023. The golfer has been grappling with feelings of impatience, boredom, and difficulty concentrating on the golf course, among other challenges. Additionally, in April of this year, she also disclosed her rebellious personality, stating, “Yeah, I say sometimes I am a little bit rebellious.” However, the pro has now found ways to manage her mental health.

Since learning about her ADHD, the gym has become one of the golfer’s top priorities. In addition to prioritizing exercise, the 28-year-old sometimes appears “cut offish,” as she uses that alone time to prioritize herself above anything else. Considering this, the golfer has established a consistent routine that she strives to follow, aiming to manage her ADHD and find joy in the present.
