Like Father, Like Son: Charlie Woods Achieves an Incredibly Rare Feat for a 13-Year-Old

Charlie Woods, the golfing legend Tiger Woods’ son shares the same love for the sport as his father. The young golfer first showed an interest in the sport when he was 4 years old. The 13-year-old plays with huge dedication and resolve. Charlie has clearly been inspired by his father’s career.

Many fans speculate he will beat Tiger Woods’ records. And if he continues pulling off the incredible feat he recently accomplished, he just might be able to.

Charlie’s list of accomplishments

Charlie Woods was born in February 2009. At the age of 7, he began participating in tournaments. His first tournament was the U.S. Kids Golf Competition in Florida. He shot a 55 for nine holes and placed second.

Four years later, Charlie competed alongside his father, Tiger Woods, at the annual father-son PNC Tournament, his first-ever world tournament. The father-and-son team finished seventh with a score of 20 under. In 2021, the duo returned only to narrowly miss victory. Despite setting the course record by hitting 11 birdies in a row, the duo lost by two strokes to John Daly and his son.

Earlier this year, Charlie went and won the Major Championship at Village Golf Course. Charlie won, with the runner-up having played 33 strokes more than him. Charlie’s more recent feat was when he sank an eagle right off the tee at the Notah Begay III Boys Jr. Golf National Championship, where he is currently playing.

Charlie Woods sinks an eagle

An eagle is when a golfer holes the ball with a score of two under par for that hole. The tournament had its second round yesterday. Charlie ended round one with a score of over 1 over par. Charlie holed an eagle on his first shot of round two. He ended the round with a score of 3 under par and now stands 15th on the leaderboard with an aggregate of -1.

It’s not Charlie’s first eagle, either. In the 2020 father-son PNC Tournament, he sank his first-ever eagle while playing alongside his father. Tiger burst with excitement and yelled, “Your first eagle!” Tiger, who is serving as the caddie for his son at the NB3 JGNC, is undoubtedly filled with pride.
