Remember how Charlie Woods finished brilliantly at the 2023 Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship? Well, if you don’t, then let us remind you. Charlie Woods, son of golf legend Tiger Woods, proved that he’s a force to be reckoned with in the golf world last year. At the 2023 Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship, Charlie captured the title position in the 14-15 age division at Mission Inn in Orlando with a thrilling performance.
Here’s how it went down: Charlie carded a career-best 66 in the final round, including a clutch birdie putt on the last hole to seal the victory. This came after a stellar second round, where he sank nine birdies, and having his dad as his caddie kept Charlie grounded, he said. “We just stay in our own little world. We take it one shot at a time. He puts me in my place.” Charlie’s win echoed his dad’s iconic style by showcasing his ability to rise to the occasion and deliver under pressure. Now this year, another golf superstar’s kid is ready to rule the greens at the same event with his father.

Will Jraice Finau follow Charlie Woods' footsteps and dominate the junior golf scene this year?
Have an interesting take?
Jraice is one of Finau’s five kids and the oldest. He and his wife, Alayna, come from big families, he once shared. Well, it isn’t the first time that the fans will be witnessing Finau together, as the golfer missed one of his important tournaments to watch his son’s game earlier this year.
Tony Finau is the best dad ever
For Tony Finau, his family came first. The six-time PGA Tour winner skipped the Black Desert Championship in Utah to cheer and coach on his 12-year-old son Jraice at the 13U PGA Junior League Championship in Frisco, Texas. “But I couldn’t miss my son’s tournament,” Finau said with a smile.

As Jraice’s coach and biggest supporter, Finau was passionate about teaching his son valuable life lessons through golf. “Talent takes you to the doorsteps, but your work ethic is what’s going to get you there,” he emphasized.
As Finau watched Jraice grow and improve on the course, he acknowledged the challenges of being a famous father. “He wasn’t listening as well as he did when he was younger,” Finau joked. But he was serious about instilling grit and a strong work ethic in Jraice.
Finau knew the glamorous life of a pro golfer could be misleading, saying, “We worked at the course and then went to eat at a steakhouse later… but he didn’t see what I went through 25 years ago.” That week, it was all about fun and competition for the Finau family.
