Essentially, it doesn’t matter what you think of when you first hear her name, because this bright American golfer has already secured her place among iconic women golfers. If you have been following women’s golf, you must have heard about her return to the greens this LPGA season. If you missed it, don’t worry. We’re here to help you catch up on the latest Lexi Thompson news!

Lexi announced her retirement last year to focus on other parts of her life. Additionally, she cited mental health struggles as one of the major reasons for wanting to step back from golf. While fans supported her decision, they also hoped to see the 30-year-old golfer in action again. Fortunately, it didn’t take long for that to happen.

Last month, Lexi confirmed her return to the course, starting the 2025 season with the Founders Cup. While her return wasn’t very successful, the former child prodigy finished in T13, earning $29,235. Although there’s no confirmation, it’s likely that Lexi will participate in at least two majors this season: the Chevron Championship and the KPMG Women’s PGA.

How about we take a look at how Lexi Thompson is gearing up for this season? The golfer stays active on her social media and often posts stories to update her fans about her workout routine. Today is no different. Lexi shared a story and captioned it with a strong five-word message: “Get stronger every day with me,” tagging her fitness app (@Lexifitnessapp).

While that has definitely excited the fans, it goes without saying that working out and staying active comes naturally to the star golfer. What else she may be preparing for? Let’s take a look at a possible Lexi Thompson return this 2025 season.

Lexi Thompson to make a solid return in majors this season?

In addition to the two majors we mentioned, she is likely to play in the US Women’s Open if she qualifies. To achieve that, she must stay in the Top 75 by March 24 to earn a spot in the first wave of exempt players. If that doesn’t work out, she will have until May 19 to move into the Top 75 and secure a spot in the second wave. Sounds good so far? Well, there’s more!

Lexi is also considering playing in the Ford Championship (May 12-18) and the JM Eagle LA Championship (April 17-20). Fortunately, her Class A status exempts her from having to make a minimum number of starts to maintain her card, thanks to her consistent participation in tournaments over the past four seasons. Unfortunately, that means she will skip the LPGA Tour’s Asia swings.

Besides these possible returns, there’s something else happening in Lexi’s personal life that has kept the fans on their toes. If you haven’t been following it, here’s the news: Lexi is officially engaged to her boyfriend, Max Provost, a Clinical Sales Representative for Intuitive Surgical. They got engaged on January 1st in Whistler, Canada. Although they haven’t set a marriage date, we wish the couple good luck in their relationship.

It seems Lexi is going to get busy this year in both her personal and professional life.
