THE ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican event is scheduled from November 6-12 this year. It will be played at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida. The 11-time LPGA winner, Lexi Thompson needs to secure a position in the Top 60 to be en route the final two-event swing. Hence, she needs to secure at least a solo third place to make her big win.

As Thompson made an Instagram appearance during the ongoing THE ANNIKA event, fans posted heartwarming comments wishing her well. One of the fans said, “God Bless! Great to see the slip hasn’t stopped your game. Go get it.”

Thompson began the week with 304.9 points. Given that she needs to make it Top 60 and that Bianca Pagdanganan currently has the 60th spot with 528.78 points, Lexi has to make adequate points. On securing a win, the player gets 500 points. The solo second earning gets 320 points, and the solo third gets 230, while the solo fourth collects 180. Lexi has a tough road ahead, but she is ready to face it irrespective of her injuries.

Despite Injuries, Lexi Thompson Seeks to Deliver Her Best

After “falling down some stairs,” Thompson sustained an injury on her hand and tailbone. As the THE ANNIKA event is on, Thompson says that it’s not the “ideal timing”, and is ready to “push through”. Lexi has gathered various accolades this year. It includes her strong performance at Solheim Cup in September 2023. Besides that, she finished third at the Ascendant LPGA and secured a joint eighth-place finish at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship 2023.
