It was expected that Lexi Thompson would be away from the course for a while when she teed up for the last time as a full-time professional. Having wrapped up her 2024 season at the Grant Thornton Invitational in December, she soon got on with her personal life and announced a New Year’s Day engagement to her boyfriend, Max Provost. But just over a month later, she was back swinging the golf club at the Founders Open for a special reason.
The 11-time LPGA Tour champion was in action at the Bradenton Country Club, having wasted little time to say yes to the opportunity to play at the historic event. She said, “The Founders are the reason why we’re able to be out here today and to be on the LPGA Tour,” said Thompson. “Those are the women that founded the Tour, so we’re lucky and honored to be able to tee it up here. And this is only about three hours from my home, so definitely an easy trip. I definitely plan on playing a few more times this year.” However, after she finished T13 at the event, she stated that she would be taking some time again.
In an Instagram post, she wrote, “Was a solid week, the first week back with a T13 finish; time to celebrate big 30 tomorrow 🙈 and have some weeks off!” But guess what? It turns out February has had a lot more in store for her than her birthday.

This was the first Valentine’s Day for Lexi Thompson as Max Provost’s fiancé. Provost made a dreamy proposal on New Year’s during their trip to Whistler, making this year’s day of love a little more special. A few hours ago, the 30-year-old uploaded a selfie with Provost on Instagram and wrote, “Valentine for life.” She also shared a picture of herself in a beautiful red dress on her official Instagram account, with the caption, “Happy Valentine’s Day.”

On her IG story, she invited her fans to connect with her on Cameo, a platform where they can request a personalized video message from the LPGA star. Thompson shared the Cameo invitation with her fans with the message, “This Valentine’s day get them a Cameo.”
Thompson continues to celebrate her love life with his fiance and while the proposal was an intimate one, their official engagement surely was not. They celebrated their hearts out with friends and family.
Lexi Thompson’s grand engagement party
On January 13, Lexi Thompson and Max Provost celebrated a moment they’d been dreaming of – their engagement party. Lexi shared a beautiful glimpse of the day on her Instagram. The couple stood surrounded by soft white balloons, their love shining brighter than anything in the room. They were both dressed in pure white, a perfect reflection of the love and joy they felt in that moment – though Max’s brown leather shoes added a charming touch of personality. She captioned the story simply:
“Engagement party.”But that day, there was another important celebration, too. She posted another photo, radiant with happiness, writing, “Time for Morgan and Friends with my mom ☺️💕”. She had attended Morgan Pressel’s charity event party, an event she loves because of its philanthropic nature.
The day was filled with love, laughter, and the kind of joy that comes from sharing these special moments with those who mean the most. The couple once again did manage to steal the hearts of their fans, and why would they not? Have you seen how adorable they look together? What do you think about them?
