When it comes to LIV Golf, it’s pretty clear it has more critics than fans, and you all know the reason. Ever since the Saudi-funded league came into the scene, back in 2022, it’s been luring big-name golfers from the PGA Tour with some seriously tempting offers. Sure, LIV has its perks, but let’s be honest, that “traitor” label still stings for those who made the jump.

Brandel Chamblee, as you probably know, doesn’t exactly hold back when it comes to sharing his thoughts. And when it comes to LIV, he’s been one of its loudest critics. The latest drama started when Chamblee took to X (formerly Twitter) to give his two cents on the state of professional golf. He jumped into the usual critiques, including the idea of LIV Golf roping in big names like Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, and Bryson DeChambeau has hurt the PGA Tour’s viewership.

It all started when journalist Robert Lusetich weighed in with his own take, saying LIV did hurt the PGA Tour by taking away its biggest personalities. He argued that with players like Rahm and DeChambeau gone; the storylines are “drier than a Saturday night out in Riyadh“. He even said that Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler were missing their “foils” now that those players are on LIV.

That set Chamblee off, who didn’t mince words in his reply. He tweeted, “LIV golf didn’t take personalities so much as those willing to sell their business for a discount. If you want to call that “personality” so be it, I call it greedy and short-sighted.” He went on to argue that players like Rahm and DeChambeau aren’t the real rivals McIlroy and Scheffler need. In his view, history and the game itself will provide those rivalries in time.

As always, Chamblee is making it clear: in his eyes, LIV isn’t the savior of golf—it’s the problem. But, of course, not everyone agrees with him on that.

Despite the dislike against LIV golf, Chamblee too has his critics

What’s your perspective on:

Is LIV Golf a bold new era or just a cash grab hurting the sport's integrity?

Have an interesting take?

As much as Brandel Chamblee has made a name for himself as one of LIV Golf’s most vocal critics, it’s fair to say he’s not without his own critics in the golf world. One user pointed out, Sold for a discount….but greedy. How does that work? Most of the players we describe as having “personality” is because….they display personality on and off the course. Hope that helps.Ouch.

Things got even more heated. One fan, clearly over it, fired back, writing, Jesus Christ Brandy, try a cup of decaf.” It’s safe to say they were frustrated with Chamblee’s repeated criticism of LIV and its players, which has clearly struck a nerve.

Then there was the fan who said,Garbage. Let it go. Independent contractors made a choice – eye of the beholder. This is the kind of comment that is something you see a lot from LIV supporters—players made their choice, and they don’t need anyone judging them for it. They’re independent, after all.

And just when you thought it couldn’t get more direct, another fan had enough and simply wrote, Can you just STFUP!!! Yeah, no sugarcoating there.

Another fan chimed in saying, In this agrument PERSONALITIES means CONTROVERSIAL and in sports Controversial means entertaining Well, it’s a clear suggestion that when players like Phil Mickelson and DeChambeau make headlines for their bold moves, a lot of fans actually love it.

But for Chamblee, it seems controversy isn’t always a good thing, especially when it comes to the decisions LIV players have made. It’s clear not everyone agrees with him, though, and the reactions really show that.
