Phil Mickelson is one of the most prominent players on LIV Golf, but this season has been challenging for him. Despite having played in all four majors and all nine LIV events so far, Lefty has not seen any winning results. Just a few weeks ago, in fact, the golf pro missed the cut at the 2023 Open Championship and lost out on the opportunity to grab a piece of the $16.5 million purse.

However, now it seems like a remedy has come his way. Lefty seems to have now added a new addition to his game. And his confidence in it shows that it might just accelerate his performance as he prepares for the upcoming $25 Million LIV Golf Greenbrier Event this week!

A golfer’s performance often depends on many factors when they step onto the course. One such factor is undoubtedly their equipment. Every golf pro needs to have the right equipment for them, as it can either make or break their game. In light of that, Mickelson has now upgraded his golf equipment.

The LIV golfer has now gotten his hands on the recently launched Callaway Apex Pro irons. In a recent tweet, Golf.com announced the launch of Callaway’s Apex Pro irons. It recalled the clubs’ and revealed the entry of the newly revamped Apex Pro, CB, and MB forged iron.

The six-time major champion, Phil Mickelson, replied to that tweet, validating the equipment. He wrote, “They are awesome. Got them last week and immediately put them in the bag. Sound, feel, performance are all amazing.”

It is fascinating that equipment can evoke senses like touch, sight, and hearing. But for a player who engages with them daily, equipment can come across as living things. And they often have to play through many to find the right match. But what is the specialty of these recently launched clubs that enticed Phil Mickelson to get his hands on them?

Fascinating facts about Callaway’s latest clubs

The official Instagram handle of all golf equipment company posted the new clubs. One can see the shiny clubs with Apex written on them. They look easy-to-handle and come with a steel shaft, demanding a firm grip by the player.

Apex is synonymous with performance and precision and is a highly preferred Callaway Iron series. And for the last three years, one has only heard of their arrival in the golf world. These clubs do not carry the deep cavity line and promise to deliver when suited with the right player.

Jon Rahm signed with Callaway in 2021 and put Apex in his bag. Since then, he has won two majors and even risen to world No 1. And even though Rahm’s game deserves the majority of the credit, perhaps his equipment deserves a bit too. After all, he could certainly not play as well without clubs smooth enough to glide through the turf.
