After a neutral statement at LIV golf’s Andalucía event last week, yesterday ‘lefty’ backed a warning for the PGA Tour players resulting from the merger. He called the Twitter thread of repercussions of Bob Golf an accurate FULL truth. And now, furthering his stance on the matter, the three times Masters’ winner had some big things to say about Jimmy Dune and the legal technicalities of the merger.
Replying to a tweet that shared Bob Golf’s thread, Mickelson said ” What’s weird is no one covering this took the time to ask a lawyer how this legal document reads AND that Jimmy Dunne conveniently left out the two most important parts of the deal and what it means when discussing it publicly and to the players.”
He called the leaked documents “misleading half truths,” which conveniently left out important points pertaining to the actual meaning of the merger.

Mickelson has also called out Jimmy Dunne for this confusion. Jimmy Dunne is the man who has been credited by PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan, for finalizing the merger between LIV Golf and PGA Tour. Dunne is the president of Seminole Golf Club who joined the PGA Tour’s policy board last year. But before Mickelson’s intervention, this matter also tried to tarnish the reputation of Tiger Woods.

After the leak of the court documents, Tiger Woods’ name was also highlighted in the matter. Woods was said to have vouched for PGA Tour at a players-only meeting at the 2022 Travelers Championship. But as soon as the news came out Woods cleared the air by professing his non-involvement in the matter through a tweet. “In response to the talking points memo released this weekend, I have never seen this document until today, and I did not attend the players meeting for which it was prepared at the 2022 Travelers,” Clearly, Woods did not want his name to be smeared in the matter.
Time after time, Mickelson has expressed his love and loyalty for LIV Golf. With his current series of attacks on Twitter, he is strongly strengthening his favoritism for the Saudi-backed league and his dislike for how the merger was carried out.
