The rivalry between the PGA tour and LIV golf continues. LIV golf is like a brash newcomer which has acted like a party crasher. Some of the PGA tour’s top players have been lured into LIV with loads of money and perks. In the ongoing bicker between the two, the US-based circuit has banned the participation of the rebel circuit. The latter has filed a complaint alleging antitrust violations on the PGA tour. But this rivalry has not yet disrupted the majors.
As of now the majors have not been affected by the ongoing feud between the PGA tour and LIV golf. After being in dominance, the PGA tour finally has a rival. A rival with pockets deeper than what one could fathom. They are seen as the poachers by those who are loyal to PGA tour.

The feud by many is labeled as an ethical dilemma. Are you going to fall for abundance of cash or reject it due to the funder’s terrible reputation?

The established tours like PGA and DP World are expecting organizing bodies to make things tough for them. Tiger Woods at St. Andrews ripped the LIV rebels for back stabbing the tour that made them who they are. But if we were to view it from a strategic viewpoint, it will extremely entertaining to view the players of rivals tours going head-to-head against one another to win the majors.
It’s going to be a tricky decision for the organizing committee. If the eligibility criteria remains unchanged. The majors will get to some of the best golf players who have shifted to LIV golf. And if not, then some of the gems of golf might lose their value with an invitation to possible legal actions against the organizers. The only middle path is a modus vivendi, providing all the tours a framework to work together.
