In the past few weeks, not only has Crushers GC Captain Bryson DeChambeau, been tearing it up on the LIV Golf circuit, but his general presence on the breakaway tour has been quite entertaining. His lively banter with Phil Mickelson was only one side of the 29-year-old golfer’s humorous personality.
He made a spectacular but unexpected shot after losing the title at Bedminster. Now, the American golfer has taken his love for spontaneity to a whole new level.

The LIV Golfer’s light-hearted approach has grown stronger since he joined the laid-back Saudi tour. With his newfound love for life, he gathered his uniquely designed Persimmon clubs and headed over to the Colorado suburbs’ Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver. He stepped up to the first tee and took an extraordinary shot.
Although the ball ended up in a divot-like hole on the outbound, it still inspired reactions from his fans, players, and commentators. “This is the last thing I thought I was about to see come up on the television screen,” one of the announcers said to the other. DeChambeau was all but dancing after taking the shot with his retro golf club.
Watching the ball soar at the par-4 hole of 389 yardage to almost make it from the tee was exciting. If not for the dogleg, it may have been a hole-in-one. Regardless, after breaking the tension at the US Amateur Golf Championship 2023, ‘the Scientist’ exited the scene with grace, smiling, and cracking up with the future stars of the sport.

This is one of many stunts that DeChambeau has pulled in the near past in an attempt to lose his starchy reputation in golf.

Bryson DeChambeau has proved time and again that he doesn’t allow bad situations to bring him down. Back in September 2022, when he had the incident with the rope that could have blinded him for that particular match, he rose like a phoenix with a funny response to people’s comments.
A few weeks ago, when his friend and peer Phil Mickelson, made funny faces while the 29-year-old golfer took his shot, he once again showed how a calm mind capable of dismissing everything is the best solution to shine on the greens. DeChambeau’s attempt at keeping things light is even evident in his tutorial videos where he makes cute remarks while sharing his Pandora’s box full of knowledge.
