Glover was able to pull off a magnificent performance at the playoffs despite seeing his lead slide past him on the last day of the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship. The hot day in Memphis saw an even fiercer show as the champ fought desperately for his win against Patrick Cantlay to claim the title for the second consecutive week.

Moreover, Glover became the third player aged 43 or older to win back-to-back on the PGA Tour in the last 40 years, a feat even the legendary Tiger Woods couldn’t achieve. The exemplary golfer had won 7 times consecutively on the tour in his 30s during the 2006-07 season.

Glover couldn’t even believe it when the interviewer mentioned the statistic to him, claiming he would have “hired a therapist” for the people who said the same thing to the pro before his win.

The 43-year-old entered the field drained after his recent win at Sedgefield. Nevertheless, he was determined to “keep fighting” even if things were not in favor. Continuing on, he said, “Closing holes here aren’t easy birdies and aren’t easy pars really under pressure, so it was just keep fighting, stay close, stay close, and I was fortunate to get in a playoff,” he said, while the PGA Tour’s social media team appropriately captioned the post “last man standing.”
