The Florida resident Lanto Griffin has had a very difficult start to the 2025 PGA Tour season. He failed to make the cut at the Sony Open in Hawaii before improving to a T34 at the American Express Open. The 2019 Houston Open winner seems to be going from strength to strength as the Farmers Insurance Open is proving to be fortuitous for Griffin.

The 36-year-old braved the adverse elements to share the lead with Ludvig Aberg after a Second Round where the rest of the field got offered little. The American shot par for the entirety of the round to inherit the lead. Let’s take a look at the arsenal that aids Griffin in his quest for a 2nd PGA Tour title.

The Virginia Commonwealth University Alum uses a GT2 Driver made by Titleist as his tee weapon, with a HZRDUS Smoke Black 60g 6.5 TX shaft. The new face technology the GT2 provides allows the ability to cover more distance compared to the older Titleist models. The high speed also does not compromise the forgiveness of the driver.

The balance and stability it provides are also really good. The clean look also makes it an attractive addition to the bag. It tends to produce more spin during faster swings, which could turn out to be counterproductive. Want this weapon in your arsenal? You can get one for just $649.

Titleist GT3 Fairway costs $399. Griffin’s choice of 3-wood provides a lot of flexibility through dynamic adjustability. The Speed and control it offers are brilliant and its face offers a lot of power but it does not offer much forgiveness. Not meant for amateurs. Griffin uses the GT3 with a HZRDUS Smoke Black 80g 6.5 TX shaft similar to his driver.

Titleist U505 is Griffin’s 2-iron choice. The club when paired with a Nippon N.S. Pro Modus3 Tour 130 X shaft can be a very lethal combination. It feels right in place in a golfer’s hand and has the ability to consistently achieve long distances. It is also very forgiving, allowing amateurs to benefit. Costing $269, the U505 seems to be a perfect companion for a golfer. However, its adjustability is non-existent while the spin it produces is hard to control.

A clean Titleist T100 is the choice of irons made by the 2019 Houston Open winner. Costing $200 per iron, the T100 is a very popular choice for golfers. The precision they provided allows players to target the green with ease and consistency. The club is also more forgiving than the earlier Titleist models and also allows a wide degree of control on the spin it imparts.

The Vokey SM10 Wedge by Titleist costs $189 and is a very good way to improve the short game. The accuracy it provides is every golfer’s dream. It offers very good spin performance and can give more control to the user, thanks to its lower launch feature.

The only Titleist club that Lanto does not use is the putter. The American pro golfer prefers a Sik FLo C and combines it with a SuperStroke Zenergy Tour 3.0 Grip, costing around $300 The putter is very easy on the roll and allows a lot of flexibility to alter the shot accordingly. Its weight distribution tends to be a bit testy, feeling a bit lightweight at the back. As they say, control is key.
