Did Scottie Scheffler serve up a cheap plate in 2025? The Champions Dinner is regarded as one of the most prestigious non-golf events on the PGA Tour. It honors every individual who has triumphed at Augusta National and worn the Green Jacket. It started in 1952 after Ben Hogan won the 1951 tournament. Since then, some of the biggest legends in golf like Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, and many more have all hosted the event after their respective Masters Tournament wins.

Over time, these legends have been treated to some amazing feasts. The menu served in honor of champions like Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm, Jack Nicklaus, and a few others are considered some of the best Champions Dinners feasts. But it is Hideki Matsuyama’s 2022 Champions Dinner that has received a lot of praise and love in the past decade. Then there have been some not-so-memorable suppers that have received some criticism. Bubba Watson and Sir Nick Faldo have made that list for hosting Champions Dinners that lacked depth.

However, the 2025 Champions Dinner curated in honor of Scottie Scheffler has still made the bottom of an interesting list. Golf Digest shared an Instagram post showing the most expensive Champions Dinner menus over the past decade. The caption read, “Scottie is keeping it simple this year. 🤷‍♂️,” as Scheffler’s 2025 menu was listed at the absolute bottom. His feast is only worth $108 per plate. For context, the most expensive menu was that of Hideki Matsuyama, at $220 per plate.

Moving on, Golf Digest clarified that “Sportsbook Review gathers the meal prices annually using TripAdvisor, and the report adjusts for inflation, using World Bank and CPI (Consumer Price Index) data.” This confirms how they derived the prices of the meals.

Fans were shocked by the price of the world no. 1’s feast, especially considering that he served an identical menu in 2023, which was worth a lot more. Let’s see how they reacted.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Scottie Scheffler's $108 dinner a testament to simplicity or just plain uninspired?

Scottie Scheffler’s 2025 Champions Dinner’s price baffles the fans

The limited variety in Scottie Scheffler’s menu has always received criticism. But this time around, fans were surprised by how much it actually costs. One of them said, “How is chilli and cookies $108 a plate? I didn’t think Texas chilli was in the tariff list too!” Scheffler’s limited offering doesn’t justify the $108 price per plate according to the fan.

For the dinner that is set to take place on April 8, 2025, the 28-year-old is serving Scottie-Style cheeseburger slider, firecracker shrimp, Papa Scheffe’s meatball, and ravioli bites for appetizers. For the first course, there is Texas-style chilli while the main course comes with wood-fired Cowboy ribeye steak and blackened redfish. We get it that now you are wondering about what he might put on the plate for dessert. Well, it is a warm chocolate chip skillet cookie with vanilla bean ice cream.

There were others who also thought the $108 was a bit too much for the kind of feast Scheffler had planned. One of the comments read, “That’s with inflation too!! This would have been $29.99 a plate in 2015!!” The world no. 1, who is also one of the richest golfers in the world right now, serving a $29.99 meal would sound very cheap. But the fan takes inflation into consideration. Hopefully, there is more depth to what he is serving than an ordinary plate of diner food worth $30.

Then there were others who were surprised by how the price of Scheffler’s menu dropped, especially considering the fact that it’s nearly the same menu as it was in 2023. A fan said, “What’s cheaper this time around? Is it not the exact same menu except chili instead of soup?” Mr. Inevitable also expanded his menu a couple of years ago. So the lower price per plate from 2023 does come as a surprise. But it seems that most of the fans didn’t check the difference between the menus as another also commented, “How did Scottie’s price decrease? It’s literally the exact same menu. @jimhh7.”

Back in 2023, Scottie Scheffler had cheeseburger sliders (served Scottie style) and firecracker shrimp with sweet Thai Chilli and Siracha Mayo for appetizers whereas the first course involved tortilla soup (avocado), crispy blue tortilla strips, sour cream, cilantro, lime. The main course had Texas ribeye steak or blackened redfish served with family-style mac and cheese, jalapeno creamed corn, fried brussels sprouts, and seasoned fries. And lastly, there was a warm chocolate chip skillet cookie with milk and cookies ice cream for dessert.

Scheffler’s Champions Dinner feast might not be the best display of flavors as well, as one of the netizens pointed out, “That’s not simple, that’s lack of taste.” They believe that the Drama Slayer lacks a diverse palate which is reflected in the kind of menu he has decided.
