Weather woes at the Kroger Queen City Championship—who will rise above the storm?

Lydia Ko has been pretty much invincible this season. As the 2024 Kroger Queen City Championship concluded its second round on Friday, the New Zealand professional golfer shot a 6-under 66. She would have easily been in the lead if not for Atthaya Thitikul. Thitikul shot a 6-under 66 on both days, taking a one-stroke lead ahead of the 2024 Olympic winner.

Following them is the Korean star Haeran Ryu, who shot a 7-under 65 on Friday and is enjoying the solo third position. While the weather was breezy on the first two days, will it remain the same for the players to maintain their lead on Saturday at TPC River’s Bend?

Saturday will have partly cloudy and partly sunny weather

According to the AccuWeather reports, the TPC River’s Bend will experience, “Breezy with intervals of clouds and sun” on Friday. The temperature is predicted to reach a high of 19 degrees and a low of 12 degrees. Winds will blow from the north at a speed of 24 km/h. If these conditions prevail, the players can easily score through the penultimate round.

However, despite a 0% chance of thunderstorms, wind gusts are predicted to reach a whopping speed of 43 km/h. Additionally, there might be light drizzles, with a 17% chance of rainfall. This could cause slight interruptions in the game. The most troublesome factor might be the 67% cloud cover, which could make the environment darker around the course, making it difficult to navigate the greens.
